i don't get why people like the annoying, obnoxious female lead trope that much... what i did appreciate in cheon song-yi is her growth throughout the series. she even became less obnoxious towards the end. honorable mention to how amazing shin sung-rok was as the antagonist!

my first favorite k-drama!

this is a real case of 'it's not you, it's me'. i just wasn't in the right mood for the dark and mature themes here.

would've been the perfect sageuk if it didn't have the romance. seriously, it was cheap and it wasn't even that well-acted (especially on his side). the whole discourse on the importance of historians was the best part of the entire series.

i still think of this pretty fondly because it's the k-drama that made me love k-dramas, but i do agree it's mediocre

couldn't get into it... another hot take: bok-joo isn't that likeable...

i don't think it was the proper time for me to watch this, which i why i ended up dnf-ing and not liking it
