23. Lovely Runner
Korean Drama - 2024, 16 episodes
this was so overrated i'm sorry.. i can def see why this is so popular but the more i watched the more the plot dragged + the main girl was starting to annoy me. some things just didn’t make sense + her character felt SO STUPID TO ME
honestly sun jae and the ost (very good btw) carried this drama for me, the story was very interesting at the beginning, and i loved the concept of traveling back in time as well as the idea of emphasizing how different one’s life can be by the decisions they make over their lifetime but ultimately i forced myself to finish. i felt zero chemistry between im sol and sun jae which sucks bc i LOVED sun jae’s character so much, but bc of the fact that im sol never originally loved sun jae in her original life i couldn’t help but see her as a mere fangirl (then again, ig her progressively falling in love with him over the course of her journey to save him was the whole plot, but still). maybe i read into it too much sure, but it rlly just felt like filler half the time.
there were definitely sweet moments which i enjoyed, and the last ep was super cute but just felt soo rushed to me. the motif of memories never truly fading away was nice as well, and the whole concept of soulmates + finding each other in every universe was beautiful too, just executed very poorly imo. i honestly just wish im sol’s character was better written overall
