Born in Tokyo in 1975. After making 8mm films as a college student, Jojo Hideo worked as an assistant director on softcore “pink films” and direct-to-video (“V Cinema”) films before debuting as a filmmaker. He has since released many films and has directed over 100 films at this point. On the Edge of Their Seats (2020) and Dangerous Drugs of Sex (2020) were back-to-back box office hits in Japan. He is the recipient of a Special Award at the 12th Tama Cinema Forum, as well as awards for best director at the 42nd Yokohama Film Festival and the 30th Japanese Professional Movie Awards. He currently has numerous films ready for release.
