Yagyu Hiroshi

Yagyu was affiliated with the Takeuchi Office and trained at the Actor’s Studio. He initially aimed to become a sailor but shifted to acting and was known for his work in school dramas, including a comedic duo with Takakazu Hozumi.
In addition to his acting career, Yagyu was active as a garden designer. He served as the 5th President and later Honorary President of the Japan Wild Bird Society, beginning his term on April 17, 2004, and holding it until June 19, 2019. He was also the first President of the Stork Fan Club, established on December 12, 2004, and was appointed Honorary Director of the Shimane Prefectural Sanbe Nature Museum in 1997.
Yagyu opened the "Yatsugatake Club" in 1989, a gallery and restaurant in Nishiide and Nishizawa Forest in Oizumi, showcasing works by artists, including potters.
Reducing his acting work around 2000, he focused on lectures and variety show appearances. He returned to television drama in 2019 with "Yasuragi no Toki ~Michi~," his first serial drama role in 20 years, which he stated would be his final drama role.
Yagyu passed away from old age at his home in Hokuto, Yamanashi, on April 16, 2022, at the age of 85.
