Kim Tae Hyung is a South Korean actor. He graduated from Dongguk University with a bachelor's degree in Theater and Film.

He made his debut in 1986 as a stage actor with roles in several plays. In 1993, he passed an audition and became part of the 15th open recruitment for talent at KBS. He became known as a solid supporting actor that appeared primarily in historical dramas for the network.

In 1999, he married his non-celebrity girlfriend who is 9 years younger than him. The couple struggled to have children with several miscarriages that increased the tension and stress between them. They finally had 3 children born in 2005, 2007, and 2010 but the relationship was already strained. In August 2012, while he was studying a new script, his wife took the children for a walk and never returned. He reported her as missing and she was found one week later in a motel with all three kids dead. Police launched an investigation and she was charged with 3 counts of murder but was sentenced to only 20 years in prison.

He quit acting in 2016 and considered committing suicide but turned to his friends and religion for moral support. He made his first TV appearance in 2022 on MBN’s "Special World" where he revealed that he is currently working as a real estate agent and cares for his elderly father who is on a nursing home. He wants to return to acting but does not think anyone will hire him at his age.
