We need Zhang Yi in the role of Luo Jian and we need Luo Jian in Season 2. It wouldn't be Be Reborn without him anymore.

I think that's because Mr. Xu took advantage of his major weakness. Personally I believe that Wenjie studied Law because his future goal was to investigate the death of his father. That's also why he easily took Ding Shenghuo's bait concerning the Iris. In addition he probably misunderstood Captain Luo's lecture after Su Ying's appearance. Captain Luo still felt bad about making him such a risk during the Water Lily case and was extremely worried something like that might happen again. When Su Ying appeared he took his worries and anger about Su Ying interfering with his case out on Wenjie. Wenjie was hurt by that, because lonely people who are used to do everything on their own are triggered by such a violent behavior. I know that because I am similar. When someone acts nice, I take the helping hand, but when the same person suddenly barks at me I can easily feel hurt and cut connections, because I am used to be alone anyways. Mr. Xu as we know stalked Wenjie and I guess he knew about Wenjies movements long before he saved him from the warehouse. After saving him, he used psychological techniques to make Wenjie trust him. He was a very cunning man who knew exactly wich triggers to push. He knew how to treat Wenjie, to trigger his need for someone who would understand his pains and longing. If you watch closely he played some kind of push and pull game with Wenjie, showing him lot's of kindness, giving him hints, showing guilt, trying to help, allowing Wenjie to take the first move and lead. He admitted his mistakes and I guess he would have even have a reasonable explanation for how he knew that Wenjie was in the hands of the smugglers. And Wenjie, who wanted to solve the mystery about his father was lured in because it seemed as if Mr. Xu was the only person who could get him closer to the truth. I also think that Wenjie didn't completely trust him, but that whenever he started to doubt Mr. Xu, Mr. Xu just brought up something reasonable that distracted him from his doubts. Also only because Wenjie is from a familiy of thieves , he is an individual and can take a complete different path. We are not like our parents and his childhood trauma was never resolved. He had never the chance to really say goodbye and let go. He was alone most of his childhood, feeling betrayed by his family on the one hand, but loving them on the other hand, treat badly by peers, but still longing for friends. Mr. Xu just exploited that and used his weaknesses against him.

The necklace was from his father? Do you remember in which episode that was shown? I must have missed that. Somehow I believed the necklace was from his mother because he holds the pendant while looking at the picture of his mother. Would be great if you remember the episode it was said, so that I can confirm it. :)Might have to change my last fanfiction chapter then, since I thought the necklace is from his mother.

My ff is still in progress ^^ only first three chapters are out. I hope to publish chap 4 today. It's probably going to be a long ff. One of my readers gives me lot's of feedback and since I am more a Plantser when it comes to writing I take her feedback in account. So everyone who gives feedback might be able to influence the plot slightly ;) I'm looking forward to publish new chapters regularly, at least once a week. At the moment I have some spare time and thus chapters are released faster than I expected. It's also fun for me to write. And I hope you will still enjoy it as the plot progresses. Captain Luo might appear soon again as well. :)

Yes, Su Ying is highly disrespectful towards Captain Luo and that's what bothered me as well. In my fanfiction Su Ying will not appear. In the drama she was probably only included to make things more complicated and disturb the positive father-son like relationship between Luo and Wenjie. But

As for Wenjie and Zhiyue, the relationship between them was extremly subtle. There are some small hints which actually show that he cares more for her, but it is not clear what kind of "liking" it is. Personally I think that even if Wenjie tries the "romance-relationship" with her now, it won't last or work, since he only moves on with Zhiyue due to Captain Luo's suggestion. I think that Wenjie doesn't really know yet himself in which way he likes Zhiyue. But he does care for her and doesn't want her to be involved in his problems. He is well aware that his life is complicated and now dangerous as well. The last he wants is to implicate his friends, which is reason enough for him to keep them in distance.

I have also to admit that I felt slightly more chemistry between Xiao Dao (Ding Wei) and Zhuang Wenjie, than I felt for Wenjie and Zhiyue, even though Dao and Wenjie were on different sides. But I'm someone who would pair charas never because of their genders, but because of something within their personality or lifestyle that makes a pairing interesting. I like conflicted romance plots, as well as enemies to lovers plots. However I won't pursue a specific romance route in my fanfiction, unless readers ask me to do so. As for now I go with Zhiyue is his girlfriend, without really showing much about it. As for Dao I want to see whether redemption is possible for him and whether there can be slight friendship between him and Wenjie, because I felt he really wanted to be his friend, despite his strange ways of showing that. I liked the character somehow. He has potential.

But I don't know yet what will happen to Zhiyue, since I concentrate on developing new crime cases and troubles for Wenjie. Of course Captain Luo will later on, as my story progresses, get a bigger part in the story again as well. Someone needs to watch out for Wenjie and I truly loved this father-son like relationship. I want to have more of that. In the end I had the impression that Wenjie was afraid of asking Captian Luo to stay in his life. So well, they are fated to work together in the future again. At least in my fanfic. I hope that there will be Luo and Wenjie working together plots in sequels of the drama as well. Hopefully those sequels happen.

Unfortunately she will stay till the end. But she can't stop Luo Jian from believing in Zhuang Wenjie. :) Personally I disliked Su Ying as well, even though I understood her behavior. It is actually quite reasonable, but she is way to pushy for my taste. She should respect Luo's approach as well, since I think he would be willing to accept her rational approach as well. But there is no romance though.
