because ml holds ALL the power in these dramas. ML are almost always more richer, powerful, older, physically much stronger and have higher status, many times direct bosses at work too. if they even have upper hand in emotional stuff fl becomes a doormat. so they kind of have to give fl power in relationship/emotional aspect, otherwise it is not romance 😂 it will have no balance

I think once a week was more of a (more than) once a week. and yeah east Asians have many sexless couples but their sex trade rate is over the top.. (about half of the men buy sex) and men cheat the most when women is pregnant- to the kid gets to be 3 years old so pregnancy doesn't equal sex, it just shows how conservative and shut down east Asia is. for example middle east is down and conservative af but have tons of population. east Asia women are just choosing not to breed due to bad environment.
