not sure why i cant see reply i got in comment section (maybe the writter deleted it? ) but tvn IS most favored drama channel as of now. as korean I know for a fact that terrestrial tv broadcasting system was most famous amongs actors until early 2000s (kbs mbc sbs) but after that tvn rose to the top. now tvn > netflix > other cable broadcasting systems like jtbc>=disney plus > kbs mbc sbs etc. also it is favored movie > drama > weekend drama > daily drama > drama special. (one or few eps) it is just well known fact here, im just stating it. scripts and actors go through it by this rank nominally. whether you like it or agree with it is your issue, doesnt make it fake.
just watched ep 1, is it worth watching? should I wait it out and binge it? just asking because I like lead actor/actress but their work was only like half my cup of tea. fl's drama was not my type except ones she filmed with zzh. (storywise). is it worth watching? btw my fav show is eternal love, love like the galaxy.
i see people here wanting them to all end up dead by the ending of season 2. lemme just say no worries because writter is soon-ok kim, who killed everyone off (even the good guys) in penthouse 😅 she's got a (bad) name for it in korea too
That platform isn't known for good K-dramas, unfortunately (and Disney themselves have been declining for years).
actually as korean, disney plus and netflix are most big budget-genere other than romance drama/films. other than that, tvn. terrestrial tv boadcadting system or movies poduced by producing companys are all kinda same, low budget romace or that typical korean police-attorney-detective-politician kinda plots😂 s list actors/actresses go for tvn first and then netflix->disney plus. so d+ is not top1 but still ranked relatively high.
I know a lot of people hate ml, but it is still worth a watch, even only for fl character and her storyline in my opinion. in most cdramas (or kdramas for that matter) actresses wear heavy makeup and just "say" they are pretending to be men/soldier/beggar/slave etc. but actress here playing fl did a really good job and her makeup was really realistic, she didnt try to "look pretty". one of the most realistic soldier makeup by women so far. I loved her character and acting was superb too. Ending was weak but if you want to watch something with determined, strong, smart female lead for once instead of male-lead following brainless flowers (or head filled with flower garden miss bright) this is a good watch. Weak ass ml character I agree, but that being said it is only other way around (genderwise). I doubt if it was fl who was weak and wanted to live carefree life like ml here people would blame her at all. 🤷
i guessed that would be the case but still interesting, havent proceeded to ep2 yet. im thinking i may have to wait it out and binge watch it? i like jjy but like half of her shows were not my taste (ones with zzh i liked but others not so much)
Funny how ALMOST every actress in the industry has makeup as “thick” as JJY, but of course all the hate goes…
im good with that, i mean most of it is fantasy drama and we are living in FHD world... actor/actresses NEED makeup.. unless they are acting like a general in war/beggar on street, or men, i'm good with heavy makeup. those cases are exceptions
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND that this is a mini series, less than 10 m an episode, which means low-low budget and limited locations/scenes. Considering that, story can't be elaborate or very detail oriented. Given that this is a decent show. actor and actresses are good looking too.
upside : really handsome ml, pretty fl, good quality (for short drama) costume and hair/makeup downside : dragged out storyline, obvious shortage of money to film 99% of the show in/outside of palace😂
