I enjoyed this up until the 9th episode. The story was pretty bland after that. Too many couples outshined the leads’ story. The anifan resolution was pretty anticlimactic.
Just finished this and im glad I finally watched it but I’m a bit disappointed in the ending. I’m not a huge fan of sad endings, but when done right I can still enjoy it because they feel meaningful to the story. This one felt empty and blew the immersion because they left too many questions that made his character meaningless. How did his best friend not know he died? Why didn’t she ask him? why did he even have to move in the first place? how did he even die? Was it really better that she found out years later? Is she just going to be alone forever now? Does she not talk to her friend who had a heart replacement in the future?
It felt like the writers just wanted it to be sad, but did not think it through plot wis. Also, what was the point of the letter he wrote if she never got to read it? Feels upsetting to know something so important the pov character doesn’t even at the end.
Such a well articulated review. I liked this drama for the reasons you mentioned (fluffy, low stress, watching between episodes of other dramas). I wasn't really interested in trying to watch the Chinese version until I read your review because I thought, well this one was enjoyable enough.
