Even If it was a third grade trashy copy of something like game of thrones, I would gladly accept it because then,…
Just the fact that someone has to compare a modern romance genre titled love with fantasy about barbarians of the middle ages tells you everything you need to know about the understanding of love and romance of the people loving the couple together. The writer of this drama has actually written it as "romantic". This is no fantasy land of barbarians. She actually thinks the main couple is cute together and she actually describes SA like how someone describes poetry or how epstein woud describe his island's beauty. The style of writing reveals a lot about what she is selling to teens...she is selling abuse wrapped as love and romanticising it.
She won't show that abused feels victimized or becomes insane...no no! She will actually show him happy in the arms of the rapist. That's her kind of love. She doesn't care about grabbing the throne or actually giving justice to revenge by killing or punishing chi cheng. Its about defiling people for the sake of it and then ...maybe "happy forever after abuse with a rapist".
This writer is someone very sinister and she knows there's no lack of perverts who will actually flat out deny the ML is rapist (because they have )
Actually, you are being realistic. Fans of this drama are living soo much in lala land that they are comparing this trash to the Godfather, joker and even game of thrones not knowing that none of those were about romance . Lol!
I don't think they understand the difference between showing rape or SA in setting that doesn't title itself "love" and doesn't romanticise it at all vs showing it as romance drama and selling it as love to audience instead of "war". Game of throne shows incest for an example and it shows morally deranged people. They start grooming minor kids from a young age. NO NORMAL HUMAN CALLS BROTHER SISTER F***ING "LOVE" and ships them like these folks. Nobody does that unless they are as deranged as PR of this drama.
The setting is not "modern" and these people existed before any real development of human rights. The Handmaiden shows people being brought as slaves...and treated like cattle. I am sure some of these people took back "romance" from the handmaiden when it was about brutality of japanese invasion and how masters groom slaves. I can bet people like these think its romance genre.
This story is wayy too trashy and wattpad rejected to be compared to these stories. I can't even believe the audacity to ask audience to watch it regardless because they think a trashy romance can be compared to the Godfather.
Even in GOT, the lead actress came out with the allegations that she was actually gaslit into doing many scenes, was exploited, pressurised and her consent was taken forgranted. Because of that, women have called out Hollywood actoes FOR OVEREXPOSURE and deliberate and senseless sex scenes to sell it more to male audience at the cost of consent of many of these actors.
Its sad that female audience is just as disgusting and they romaticise lack of consent.
I wrote my review ages ago and left after 8 eps and I am still being targeted. Every now and then, some new comment fully denies rape that happened and calls multiple violations "love"...
I liked his writing. His character was first trapped in writing and then he grappled with with reality. He was supposed to be the villain in that drama but he turned out to be far more interesting than the ML.
I don't think anyone was written as toxic in the drama like him...so ...no one could relate to him fighting his demons (especially the FL, who was written as some kind hearted girl)
He couldn't break character because the writing was all he knew and his journey and battles were interesting to watch. I personally, didn't care about any of their "love" stories because I find school love stories ridiculous anyway...if this was a cdrama, they would have done more justice to his villain to hero arc...but it was a kdrama and he was supposed to be the second lead so they didn't bother with that character too much. Still, he stood out quite a lot because the actor did justice to this character
41 votes for wooden acting. tff fans are crazy. fake 300 votes with 10s and now this.
I have given up with cdrama ratings and at first I disagreed but after repeatedly seeing how fans of cdramas behave, I think its fair to say that all ratings on MDL and popularity on lists is not trust worthy. Its not just tff...that drama is probably ML's worst performance for me because I liked his acting more in almost all other dramas in the list but...when cdrama fans/PR chooses to increase ratings, yes, a dedicated group works and they attack anything and everyone who disagree. MDL does nothing about bots as well.
Legend of Yunxi and Are you the one have high rewatch value for me. I don't even know why. Same with love between fairy and devil. Its so simple that I have watched it many times. I don't rewatch dramas at all and yet, I have rewatched these. Some dramas i loved more don't have rewatch value for me
I swear this person is allergic to bl, why watch something when you don't like the concept
Edit: As you can see, some child got soo triggered by an honest review that I have 4 replies for some reason (the same person giving multiple replies and calling me hater...i guess I am a hater of abuse rapist whitewashing) and it contains a lot of personal insults which actually tell you how real audience is not only denying abuse but also really going after the throats of people who are simply didn't like what they liked. This is peak harassment
Lmao! Left it soo long ago...I swear the crazies won't stop doxxing. Nice try but the review says nothing about the genre. This deflection won't work when the male lead is a rapist and an abuser in general. I guess watching abusers makes people think bullying is alright. It really affects psyche unlike what some people think. Generally, people give baf reviews under other dramas as well. Negative reviewers are generally not harassed. People seem to be learning from such behaviors and think harassment is okay
I am sorry but I don't actually like 2nd MLs more generally. There are exceptions like school 2015 but a lot of 2nd MLs are actually FLAWLESS KEN DOLLS. I don't think any human beings regardless of gender are like that. As a person who might have disagreements with humans but doesn't demonise flaws, I actually understand why a well written female lead falls for a human rather than a novel character written for audience.
Extraordinary you was a good example. I think he was more interesting but he had the personality of a lead in the original story. He had actual flaws and was grappling with real and fake world later like most of them...as for the ML, he was more like the traditional second leads in the drama. I didn't care for love story abd who should end up with who...but as a character, he was more interesting than Haru for sure (and the actor was more talented than the lead actor as well)
She had two expressions all through : deer-in-headlights and watery eyes. Plus why did we have to hear about her…
I don't even get the beauty. Its probably a thing in korea because she has eurocentric features...which are... well, its obvious! The work. The first FL in season 1 was gorgeous though. The ML also stood out to be because of unconventional beauty
Apparently, the ml is also a r@p'st because he orders gang r@p' of his rival. But, the PR is trying hard to hide…
No. Massive difference between a reg flag and a criminal/rapist. Also massive difference between showing the rapist as a rapist and trying to romanticise him

This is not false rumors and the attacks first happened on all negative reviews of this drama including this one. The reviewer has pointed it out before. I quit this in the first half and the harassers are hounding people like leeches...for agreeing with opinions. Why are you telling people to quit under a review that says "dropped". People who think similarly will talk about it.
This review section is for audience. The coordinated attacks prove my points
Lol! Because it isn't even worth considering. I found the acting to be loud and cringe. The audience is free to judge acting. You never need a certificate for that...no one is history has said audience can't judge acting. Besides, its one of the things. The main points are about writer as well as direction. There's always space for growth. Maybe it was the director's fault...they might get to improve in the next one
Look, no one's white washing anything, I'm a woman and no I am not defending SA, I have a cousin who was SAd and…
Reviewing a drama fairly for mocking consent and SA is not narrow minded.
It is clear to see that all negative reviews which fairly criticised writers and directors have been attacked. For what? Pointing out romanticisation of an abuser which continues throughout the drama.
Tags of series? No series writes "rapist romanticisation" as a tag. If it was there, I would have avoided it but it would should still be open to criticism.
No, this is beyond fiction. Yoy have come under people's review section to attack them (including mine). Clearly, you are defending SA more than you should.
Besides, whitewashing a gang rapist shows that the narration is flawed IN THIS FICTION. Its a criticism of writing and direction. If the writer doesn't undermine SA, then why has she romanticised a gang rapist and tried to whitewash him despite repeated incidents of SA and rape attempts even in later episodes?
Why can't she show him as who he is - an abuser? These reviews you are attacking point out the flawed direction and narrative of this whole drama.
