Man i love the actors...but this era and style id direction...i don't know ..its less appealing to me. Let's hope i get hooked on from the first episode and change my mind. I will definitely give this a chance

I get it but fiction doesn't need to be completely stripped of reality . Only fantasy and supernatural stories can be that. This was a simple historical drama. I still enjoyed it but...We could've done without all that beating

That hard work is killed by people who promote bad actors or mediocrity. Connections and PR over acting talent who needs growth. This is her THIRD PROJECT AS LEAD. She won't even take the route of doing side characters to learn acting.There's literal child actors who have the ability to shake people and then there's...PR. Man, I hope you at least get paid handsomely for this.

I am fine with women having power but I ain't okay with how they acted like bullies IN PUBLIC. The politics was very subtle in case of women...and they always had chess pieces instead of doing things themselves.
There were women in ancient China who had more power than the men...and nobles definitely had a lot of power over other people anyway but none of them BEAT UP PEOPLE LIKE THAT.

When it comes to young ladies, looks have never mattered as much as charm. I have seen Yong Xi in villanous roles and loved him there as well. Both guys are really good actors. There are unconventional looks that are loved more than conventional. The lead of "alchemy of souls" and "reset" is a good example of unconventional looks.
Both are loved very much and have given many hit performances. They always end up ourshining the conventionally pretty guys.

I think, somewhere... they took advantage of how much he wanted their love. They had an upper hand. Poor guy! Besides, when the sister entrusted the FL with the emperor's stick, I thought she would take responsibility for the family and lead them even when they became poor. But she immediately stopped that once they got poor and became more obedient ? So, she was only interested in leading when they were rich? Does it make any sense? I think anyone sho can read english knows the word "rebellious" and "deviant". Spoilt means "pampered" . HE WAS NEGLECTED, ISOLATED AND ATTACKED constantly. Kids who are beaten uo constantly even for doing right things like him end up becoming deviant and harsh. The FL was spoilt because she recieved love from all sides.

1) False. The sister clearly didn't like the family but Loved him and said that he was very close to her and when the family tried to sell her out for status ...(because marrying into the palace means a life of suffocation), he tried to break it (which COULD GET HIM KILLED COZ ITS TREASON) and was beaten so badly for it bu his father that he couldn't walk for months.
Do you even understand what it takes to do that for someone?
He stood up for her the second time when he got to know what happened to his sister, he berated the father badly again.

2) The Li family's anger was justified in the beginning but after they beat him up and made amends, after the daughter and him worked together, after he risked his life for her challenges and after he asked her to go away to her family when he got poor... after he was working hard to make a living...they decided to KILL HIS SPIRIT. Even the wife was soo disappointed in their behavior and called them out for it...and THEY LAUGHED. Absolutely Vile.

3) Oh please !! They have tried to portray her beating him up as funny! Its not romance at all. He is a prisoner. Poor guy walks on eggshells. The family has normalised beating and the wife doesn't have an ounce of respect for him.

Rebuilding fortunes doesn't mean you don't need to apologise and make amends. Matter of the fact is, He had a full character growth and longed for their love. He redeemed himself but the Li family failed to redeem themselves and did injustice to him.

I agree. Except the Fourth couple, THEY TRIED TO SUPRESS THEIR PERSONALITY. What's with nornalising domestic abuse?? If it wasn't fkr incredible actors, the physical abuse would have given me a headache already
