I wanted her to be more cruel. Wanning is not only evil but one of those people who use their previous bad experiences as an excuse to torture other people...of course, There are people who support her victim mentality but this woman unnecessarily killed, assaulted (yup, because fangfei's husband didn't give his consent in the beginning either). He was forced, beaten up and threatened with the lives of his family which in the modern context...falls in the same definition of R.
She liked him because she was used to unleashing her trauma on him...Besides, notice how he didn't want the child. Its simply because what that evil prince was to her...she was to him! Evil people often hide behind their sad pasts. All leads including Duke Su and Fanfei had terrible pasts...However, only wanning and Fangfei's husband chose to drown in victimhood and use it as an excuse to harm people.

Its the same chaebol assistant or chaebol employee dynamic people have been seeing since Kdramas started airing. Ain't nothing new about it. Same wattpad stuff.

So he is not a CEO but the successor/owner of a conglomerate aka chaebol...which is even more powerful than a CEO. Chaebol stories are used even more than CEO stories (which can be small companies with young bosses)

Hmm...Me too. Nobody can do it alone. The more strong you get, the more backing you need to stay there. If someone has more supporters than you, you fall! Technically, that's how it works in politics. Kings had wives who controlled palace politics and diplomacy with other nations. Pretty much all marriages were political alliances and those women ensured that millitary support and help is ensured to the kingdom they come from. The men cannot do it alone either. Genghis Khan controlled kingdom bydepending on his daughters. They became heads of state...dude was brutal but that's how things worked in his era

Asian dramas have better written female leads compared to Hollywood. I saw acolyte and other flops like She hulk etc. Terribly written female leads compared to chinese wuxia goddesses jn the novels or Japanese anime characters. I would like to disagree here

I am surprised that people think a strong FL means she doesn't need a man to help her or save her. Everyone needs someone. The person who thinks that you can do everything alone is a NARCISSISTIC PERSON. You need someone's help at every step in life. No wonder the world has little respect for mental health issues. Getting support or help is seen as a weakness no matter how strong the character is. The gender of the person doesn't matter. It could be a male lead helping...it could be a maid or a bodyguard. Those women in powerful positions needed a lot of people to save them. They saved many too.
I cannot believe that after hating those one dimensional narcissistic male leads, people want the female leads to be like them in the name of "strong independent women".

Does someone helping you...regardless of their gender make you weak? They saved the ass of male leads multiple times. The reason hollywood big budget films are failing is because ...Instead of making the leads realistic and vulnerable, they are hell bent on proving "she doesn't need anyone to save her". They are making undefeatable one dimensional female characters. We live in a society. The leads are gonna form alliances and have partners who will save them..and who will be saved by them.

I think the FL of THE DOUBLE was one of the strongest female leads of all time. I do like my female leads to be slightly flawed and vulnerable at times...so, the wonderland of love actress remains my favorite. I am biased towards her acting skills as well. She is a very good actress

Ya'll ...kdrama plots these days...are embarrassingly funny. Sure...he's CEO at that age and has a love hate relationship with his childhood crush? Yeah! I don't read wattpad but I don't feel left out at all

I feel like she...Acts "childishly" sometimes. Ya'll ...I am gonna get thrashed by her PR. But, there's something very "school girl" about her acting. Its not very mature...and by mature, i don't mean the shouting and crying she does in serious roles. I have watched her dramas ans I did enjoy one of them but I just can't praise her acting skills. As for the guy, he has nailed all characters I have seen him play. Am I still gonna give this drama a chance? Sure. Who knows? Maybe her acting has improved

Man, how long has it been since I have seen a drama this good?? ITS A DELIGHT! The male lead has made it to my favs. The female lead is wonderful. Most importantly, the villains the are awesome and complex. Man. I LOVE LAYERED CHARACTERS. Will we see dramas like this again? I am already having withdrawal symptoms!

I wish her all the best. I don't watch her dramas because I can't connect to her characters but she seems like she has a lot of haters to deal with. ..So, i don't want to bring her down here . Who knows...maybe I will end up liking this new drama of hers?

A crazy character doesn't need over the top acting. It just needs a good actor. The recent Batman film had crazy characters but it was praised because despite the craziness, there was no overacting

I mean, if you are into soap operas...then sure, she might seem like an extraordinary talent but I was talking about her acting in general..compared to actors in korean dramas, movies and outside of korea. I totally get that many people love eccentricism and it sells. A lot of actors sell eccentricism as good acting. Its an old formula.
But, anyone who loves cinema of all types doesn't enjoy it and always finds realistic and subtle acting to be more powerful

She is actually a decent actress but she has a tendency to overact. Anyone who is too much into loud acting romantic shows can tolerate that but those who have seen cinema of all kinds find it to be intolerable. I cannot get to like her voice at all for some reason even though I have tried hard to do so...because her voice is unique. There are other actresses whom I absolutely love for their similarly deeo voices. She fairs well in very serious roles....but pretty much always overacts

I completely agree with so much focus on boring cases. The FL is actually clever for her age and I don't mind her getting saved by the prince... I do enjoy classic romances as long as its well written. However, it wasn't developed well. I absolutely don't mind mushy romances...I am quite shamelss about that but even the romantic scenes were half heartedly shown. The ending was also weirdly written. I personally hate the dubbing they do in chinese dramas. Dialogue delivery is half of the acting talent after all.

The most attractive part of the show was the Prince (the older prince) played by Wen Ying. He has more personality than the ML. Would have to guve credit to the actor as well. He jusg steals the show no matter how small his screentime is.
