10/10 A RARE 10/10 Kdrama I just finished You and Everything Else and honestly... wow. This drama is an easy 10/10 for me, and I don't give those out lightly. It now sits in my elite list with When Life Gives You Tangerines, My Dearest, Our Movie, Reply 1988, Flower of Evil, and Crash Landing on You. That's how much it hit me. The acting? On another level. I think it might be the best l've ever seen in a K-drama, and Park Ji Hyun absolutely blew me away. Every little glance, every pause, every crack in her voice carried so much weight. She made her character feel so real that I almost forgot I was watching a show. What really struck me was how simple yet deep the story was. It's not about big twists or flashy gimmicks - it's about the messy, complicated reality of friendship. The way the two leads loved each other, but at the same time carried so much jealousy, resentment, and rivalry... it was heartbreaking and beautiful. 10/10 The Best Asian Drama Ever If you never experience watching the best TV drama, Nirvana in Fire is really the only thing you are looking for. It's all about revenge, deep critical thinking, amazing strategy, bromance, martial art, justice, romance, costume, loyalty,..., & historical period drama. The whole series is very very very brilliant & most reasonable. You can't even guess what going on. You will feel you yourself are so brainless. Moreover, you will experience what you never feel before. All I can say it's like breathless, addicted, crying, laughing, heart breaking,.... The cinematography is amazing. The costume is so beautiful. Not to mention actor performance. They are so talent. Not only the lead actors, everyone is great. It's so hard to not fall in love with the lead role actor. Nirvana in Fire won't give you a chance of boring. You probably feel uneasy on it first episode but believe me if you can pass it you will be unable to withdraw from your seat. Plese! don't miss it. It's really everything you can describe as the best TV drama you have ever seen.
10/10 First Taiwanese Drama. It's really good! Actors are hot, actresses are hot. Lead actress reminds me of Shu Qi with a dumb happy smile since she has a buck tooth. All the actors are very talented. They're far better than Marvel actors. Writing was excellent. I think the scenarios were believable. No sudden getting in to a car accident as soon as a character needs to be redeemed. Well written characters and a mom who seemed just overbearing enough to be believable and honestly horrible. Dad seems to not want to bother the family and provide to a fault. Male lead has a huge coming of age that's only really achievable with the female lead out of his life as she's doting on a hapa guy from her past (even that's believable! Best of both worlds, since he has physical features of a white guy but speaks fluent Taiwanese so he's "perfect" in the eyes of white worshipping Taiwanese girls. Usually white guys are just there because it's easy to find girls to sleep with but TV won't show that since it'll lead to criticism). I loved the various stories showing that everyone struggles with their own issues. It doesn't really go far enough, I think it could've tackled cheating better as well as crime but Asian media doesn't allow criminals to get away as that sends a bad message. And cheating is likely seen as irredeemable.

Nowadays movies and shows are so inconsistent with their storyboarding often rushing or jumping to a new scene or idea so suddenly really taking the viewer out of the show This series consists of 10 episodes steadily exploring 10 different, but very real stories of love, heartbreak, life challenges, and decisions. These scenarios are well thought out and well structured really allowing people of all ages and preferences to relate to the characters one way or another. The roster of characters all exists in this world somewhat intertwined, but not necessarily related in anyway. This way of storytelling creates essentially a type of world building where these characters you saw and liked/disliked or have invested time in are continuing to live their life as you learn and explore these new character's life and personal challenges. I feel that these stories touch really well on how real these scenarios can be and can/have happened. You may relate to some from past experiences, you may find some stories interesting, you may find some stories heartbreaking, but at the same time realize sometimes life just doesn't go the way you want even if the answer is right there. Timing, stages of life, work and career, life circumstances, and so much more are displayed in all of these stories. This series should be watched as an anthology as it is meant to be. It is a collection of stories and a collection of life events that can and has happened. I see some reviews complaining why there are different characters or why the previous characters become background characters or story is not completely finished, but that is the purpose of this series. Each episode depicts a type of story about love and life then life goes on as new stories are told. Previous characters lives on and their story is not finished just because the episode is done. They show up as everyday people living their life in new episodes and we see some characters intertwine through their own history or through their career or just their coincidence just like how life goes.
10/10 Winter Begonia- Not Just Bromance but Hauntingly and Beautifully Romatic. Just finished watching Winter Begonia and I gotta say, this drama has it ALL. It's perfect in every way, visually stunning, soundtracks and OSTs are beautiful...the Plot is SO Beautifully laid out. It has everything: Comedy, Drama, Tragedy, Bromance, True Love, Cheesy romantic lines, everything. The characters are all SO on point, there is not a single moment I fast forwarded. The leads Yin Zheng and Huang Xiaoming have given such breathtaking and refreshing performances, it made me wish this drama was longer than 49 episodes. I am generally a little wary of Cdramas set in the Early 90s...But this show really focuses on Lives of Opera artists as well as the relationship between rich Businessman Cheng Feng Tai & Opera Artist Shang Xi Rui! In my opinion, Winter Begonia really pushed boundaries and low-key crossed the thin line that separates BL from Bromance to the point where it shocks you how this even passed censorship! PS; l've always found Peking Opera fascinating because of their make-up and costumes but this show made me really appreciate the music and singing...Turns out, the only thing one needs to respect and appreciate Peking Opera was English Subtitles :P

There was romance, but in a beautiful, veiled and believable way. Modest and gentle..! also found a female actress who was as beautiful as also cute. The male actors are also all excellent. Watch, watc again and wait for the new series to come.....My love for China started with art history and fine paintings and poetry. Later came the stories of "Judge Di" by Robert van Gulik. And now I have discovered Chinese TV series for evening entertainment. Great viewing. In addition, educational and interesting. How they have been able to use their ancient and great cultural heritage in a new and great way, nothing but admirableh and wait for new episodes.
10/10 | Loved This Drama and Suggest You Watch It I love this melodrama and suggest that anyone who wants to watch it do so without reservation. I have watched this series several times on this platform and on other platforms and have reached the same conclusion: It is a well written romantic story. The love story between the two main characters was sensitively and realistically portrayed by two veteran actors: Jinyan Wu and Xuxiye Liu. The fact that he was a warring general was secondary to their love story. They were enemies who would become selfless friends, confidants and finally lovers. I cried many times throughout the series and do not doubt that several of you will do the same. Their love was idealistic, but very touching. Women wish for a man who would love them as the prince loved his woman. This series had Eternal Love vibes and thus was, in my opinion, a beautiful drama. Kudos to everyone involved in this great production. My recommendation: Watch for yourself and draw your own conclusions; I will definitely watch it again.

This drama had all the ingredients to become a memorable historical epic: gorgeous cinematography, impressive costumes, strong performances, and an emotionally charged premise. Unfortunately, the writing completely undermines everything it builds. As the story progresses, the characters begin making decisions that feel inconsistent with their motivations, making the final stretch more frustrating than tragic.
The biggest problem is that the emotional conflicts rely on choices that simply don’t feel believable. Characters abandon their own values, friendships, and responsibilities in ways that seem forced solely to create drama. Instead of delivering a satisfying conclusion, the ending raises more questions than answers, leaving important character arcs feeling incomplete and emotionally hollow.
It’s especially disappointing because the production quality remains consistently excellent throughout. The cast does everything they can with the material, but even great performances can’t fix a narrative that loses its internal logic. Rather than feeling moved, I was left wondering why so many events unfolded the way they did.
Despite its visual beauty and ambitious scope, the weak storytelling ultimately overshadows its strengths. A frustrating experience that never fulfills the promise of its first episodes. Sadly, this is an easy 1/10.
10/10 Top-notch quality triumphs over smear campaigns This drama is top entertainment. It has comedy, mystery, action, romance, politics, fantasy, spiritual cultivation, brotherhood and family love. All of these elements are fused together in a delightful story of a young, intelligent, hardworking and high-EQ sales manager Yang Ling (Dylan Wang), who finds himself in the ancient kingdom of Dafeng, inhabiting the persona of an orphan named Xu Qi An. Using his modern knowledge to solve cases, he rises from a lowly constable job to a position in a prestigious group called the Guardians. He even gains the fancy of a royal princess played by Tian Xi Wei. Weeks before this drama aired, paid trolls on Chinese social media started maligning it and the main lead. Why? Because in the dirty and corrupt Chinese Entertainment industry, bullies don't want a grassroots-backed actor like Dylan Wang, who didn't come from money and doesn't have powerful backers, taking projects away from power-backed actors, especially the highly coveted role of the main character of a hugely popular novel on which the drama was based. Due to the popularity of Dylan and the novel, GOTD still topped domestic viewership charts despite the smear campaigns. However, some charts susceptible to the effects of slanderous post and shadow-banning could not escape the multi-million rmb worth of smear campaign. Nevertheless, the drama gained solid footing after more and more viewers realized its first-rate quality. What impressed many viewers most was the phenomenal acting Dylan Wang brought to the table. This drama proved his acting talent that his bullies keep trying hard to undermine. It is hoped that drama viewers have been made aware of the prevalence of smear campaigns in social media and will not be so easily swayed by negative press about artists and dramas in the future.
10/10 An entertaining roller coaster of a series with mesmerizing leads! This series has everything-two dynamic leads with earthshaking chemistry, super nasty villains, slapstick comedy, melodrama, murders, detective work including primitive CSI, fantasy ninja moves, ghosts, really lousy CGI, AND a couple of kitchen sinks. Seriously, you have to accept this show with an open mind, and just enjoy the ride. The show reminds me of some of the episodic films from Hollywood in the 1930s. It also has some similarities to a picaresque novel; the central characters journey here and there, having adventures along the way and meeting odd and memorable characters. The special effects are hysterically crude but I enjoyed laughing at them. Is it perfect? Nah. But it is entertaining, keeps your interest for its thousand episodes, and has a satisfying conclusion, albeit feels a little rushed. I honestly don't understand folks carping about Seven Tan's appearance and/or performance. I find her delightful to watch-l've watched several of her shows, and she's always compelling. Her energy and skill bring out the best from her fellow actors. Yes, she has a pert nose, but it goes with her face. She has a comic's classic face-she can appear homely in one scene (like when she's puckering up to Allen Ren on that roof) or very lovely (when she's dressed up for the beauty contest). I liked Allen Ren in this show very much. I find his other dramas stupid or boring or just so so-so. He is gorgeous in this role with pretty costumes, and I like him better a little beefier as he is here. He has great chemistry with Seven Tan, and I could watch him watching her for a long long time.
I'm gonna say it right off the bat: this was the best show of 2019. My family and I have watched it many, many times (to the point where I really believe I will puke if this is mentioned again), and it has never ever delivered anything else but surprise, laughs, and approving nods. In other words: it's a good show. My favorite character must be Fan Sizhe, who's name is Versace in Chinese. His actor (Guo Qilin) shocked me with how well versed he seemed in his role. And Fan Xian. Oh, let's not forget the MC. He really acts like what I would act like if I ever transmigrated into a world like that. On top of all that, the political intrigue, oh god, the political intrigue. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT, believe it or not. And good thing is, the intrigue MAKES SENSE, unlike some other dramas (I don't wanna talk about them). Aaaand, there's the angst. When Teng Zijing died, I was really trying not to cry. Anyway, let's not talk about that. The story flow was magnificent and logical, with some comedy peppered in here and there. A good mix, if you ask me. The action scenes were very nicely done, and most of all the props and clothing. They were BEAUTIFUL. Incomparable. So overall, this series is really, really good, absolutely binge-worthy, so now, go and watch it!
10/10 Beautiful story-top drama Although this is 40 episodes. I binge watched this until the end. The costumes. The story. The development of the characters. The chemistry between the actors. The script. The scenery. Also very nice capturing of the landschap. Thats why I love these kind of Asian drama's. They have such attention for details. Hollywood needs to learn from this. The FL did an amazing job. I loved her whole journey. And she did do as she promised. Very smart. I love a strong FM. They have pretty dramatic scenes but often switched with some lighthearted scenes. Like with her dramatically nephew of her banter with the Duke Su. So funny. I wished for more funny scenes. But I guess this drama is to serious and the themes are to serious for a lot of banter. The character of the husband Shen keeps you guessing. His character was the hardest to understand. Just the depth of his personality. Just the why? I still don't understand. Is he good? Has he become bad? Does he really love her? But very entertaining. Duke Su had also great character development. From cold to hot for Jiang Li. Love their story. I hate that they send him off "to fight" He is way to cunning and important to go fighting. The end could have been better. But after 40 episodes I can only hope that Duke Su 'like always' keeps his promises. I can't accept any other truth.
10/10 Legendary Tv-Show This is an all-time great film. This is close to perfection, ! mean it. From top to bottom, everything is perfect. The martial arts and CGI is legendary. I never seen a tv-show with so many great deities and great fighters (never ending top fighters) and it's never a dull moment. Crushed 27 straight episodes in a few days because it's a rarity to find films like this. After films like Side story of Fox Volant, Who rules the world (one of the best female leads) and heavenly sword, I can't think of a film that has consistent martial arts and would exceed pass those mentioned. This is film shoulo be summarized is one word "Perfect" Trust me, there is never a dull moment, I can't get over how they made this. I wish there were more films like this. I must say that I always love K-drama but oh my, C-drama is making some exceptional films, especially with amazing CGI and stronger female leads. K-Drama needs to take note because it's becoming too predictable now with soapy love helplessness plots like Alcadamy of souls. This film is really a must watch on all levels and it shouldn't be anything less than a 9.4 - this film is a legit 10/10 and is an all time great.

It rips your heart out right at the beginning, every episode is twisting it (especially ep 5 (o) and somehow packs an ample amount of humour to ease the pain. The male leads (Tseng Jing Hua & Peng Cian You) chemistry is amazing and their acting is exceptional. The only negative is the stupidity of the police, but (are we even surprised about this?) it isn't too bothersome. This series has the perfect balance between comedy, fantasy, family and detective drama. All 12 episodes are sprinkled with life lessons. The show absolutely deserves a 2nd (and many more) season.
10/10 Great cinematography, great acting, great production Word of Honor is a wuxia drama, based on Priest's novel named Tian Ya Ke. It means you will see many martial arts scenes, everything will satisfy you emotionally. I guarantee it. The characters Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing, which are the leading roles, are very skillfully written and acting in the same way. You can see how much the actors attach importance to their roles in their acting. Zhang Zhehan, who portrays a character like Zhou Zishu, who is desperate but has found hope in the last years of his life but has limited time ve Gong Jun, who portrays a character like Wen Kexing, who lived his life in a dark/insane place and still one of his part a little child, both of lead actors... THEY SHOW INCREDIBLE ACTING!! I think the reason i love this drama so much is that every relationship is so deep. Zhou Xu/Wen Kexing, Wen Kexing/Gu Xiang, Zhou Xu/Cheng Ling. All of them is so pure and the acting is so good that it feels as if you are experiencing all those emotions. Not just the lead roles, all the actors/actress are like your best friend. One of my favorite things about Word of Honor is definitely cinematography. They make you feel like the camera is your eyes. The arrival of daylight, the positioning of the actors, everything is to make you feel as if you are living there, and you feel that too. It will be a festival for your eyes and heart. The production team gave their best to this drama. If you are watching a Chinese drama for the first time, it may be difficult to notice but I, as someone who has been here for 6 years, can see how much effort they have made for this drama. If I'm not mistaken, there are subtitles in 13 languages right now, and they do everything to give viewers comfort. There is a lot to say but I did my best to make this spoiler free. It will leave a mark in your life, you can be sure of that.

When I heard it was banned but Chinese fans were smart enough to download all episodes, I was really excited to watch this. In the end, not dissapointed. I totally loved all main characters, even tho I was kinda lost in their names, but that is fault of not official subtitles, which I truly hope will get better. LJS and RZM were amazing and their chemistry really did spark. To be honest, I'm not surprised Chinese government had to ban this drama, but it's pitty, because the story was just perfect. In the first place, this is drama about dangerous deadly game and few people trying to survive. BL aspect was just part of it. I'm about to read novel, so I'm looking forward the scenes which didn't make it up the drama. I don't really like horrors so I was asking myself: "Am I really watch this just bcs is censored BL?" The answer was clear, to be honest... But I really loved the story. Sometimes it was really scary, sometimes not. Sometimes I felt butterflies in my belly, sometimes I fet like I'm about cry the whole night. Every single doors containes different story and characters have to find clues and find our what's goin on. It's not easy, but when they work together, it's not even hard. The story is full of tension which made me watch whole drama in few days and I really recommend this one. But I have some reservations towards the ending. I mean, ! can't say I didn't like, but neither that I did. The last scene just doesn't make sense to me. Overall. I really enjoy this. I see some reviews complaining why there are different characters or why the previous characters become background characters or story is not completely finished, but that is the purpose of this series.
Each episode depicts a type of story about love and life then life goes on as new stories are told. Previous characters lives on and their story is not finished just because the episode is done. They show up as everyday people living their life in new episodes and we see some characters intertwine through their own history or through their career or just their coincidence just like how life goes.
Just finished watching Winter Begonia and I gotta say, this drama has it ALL.
It's perfect in every way, visually stunning, soundtracks and OSTs are beautiful...the Plot is SO Beautifully laid out. It has everything: Comedy, Drama, Tragedy, Bromance, True Love, Cheesy romantic lines, everything. The characters are all SO on point, there is not a single moment I fast forwarded. The leads Yin Zheng and Huang Xiaoming have given such breathtaking and refreshing performances, it made me wish this drama was longer than 49 episodes. I am generally a little wary of Cdramas set in the Early 90s...But this show really focuses on Lives of Opera artists as well as the relationship between rich Businessman Cheng Feng Tai & Opera Artist Shang Xi Rui!
In my opinion, Winter Begonia really pushed boundaries and low-key crossed the thin line that separates BL from Bromance to the point where it shocks you how this even passed censorship! PS; l've always found Peking Opera fascinating because of their make-up and costumes but this show made me really appreciate the music and singing...Turns out, the only thing one needs to respect and appreciate Peking Opera was English Subtitles :P
Great movie. Great and exciting stories. Philosophical, educational and a bit funny too. But the main thing - without tasteless overblown romance. There was romance, but in a beautiful, veiled and believable way. Modest and gentle..! also found a female actress who was as beautiful as also cute. The male actors are also all excellent. Watch, watc again and wait for the new series to come.....My love for China started with art history and fine paintings and poetry.
Later came the stories of "Judge Di" by Robert van Gulik.
And now I have discovered Chinese TV series for evening entertainment. Great viewing. In addition, educational and interesting. How they have been able to use their ancient and great cultural heritage in a new and great way, nothing but admirableh and wait for new episodes.
I love this melodrama and suggest that anyone who wants to watch it do so without reservation. I have watched this series several times on this platform and on other platforms and have reached the same conclusion: It is a well written romantic story.
The love story between the two main characters was sensitively and realistically portrayed by two veteran actors:
Jinyan Wu and Xuxiye Liu. The fact that he was a warring general was secondary to their love story. They were enemies who would become selfless friends, confidants and finally lovers. I cried many times throughout the series and do not doubt that several of you will do the same. Their love was idealistic, but very touching. Women wish for a man who would love them as the prince loved his woman. This series had Eternal Love vibes and thus was, in my opinion, a beautiful drama.
Kudos to everyone involved in this great production. My recommendation: Watch for yourself and draw your own conclusions; I will definitely watch it again.
This drama had all the ingredients to become a memorable historical epic: gorgeous cinematography, impressive costumes, strong performances, and an emotionally charged premise. Unfortunately, the writing completely undermines everything it builds. As the story progresses, the characters begin making decisions that feel inconsistent with their motivations, making the final stretch more frustrating than tragic.
The biggest problem is that the emotional conflicts rely on choices that simply don’t feel believable. Characters abandon their own values, friendships, and responsibilities in ways that seem forced solely to create drama. Instead of delivering a satisfying conclusion, the ending raises more questions than answers, leaving important character arcs feeling incomplete and emotionally hollow.
It’s especially disappointing because the production quality remains consistently excellent throughout. The cast does everything they can with the material, but even great performances can’t fix a narrative that loses its internal logic. Rather than feeling moved, I was left wondering why so many events unfolded the way they did.
Despite its visual beauty and ambitious scope, the weak storytelling ultimately overshadows its strengths. A frustrating experience that never fulfills the promise of its first episodes. Sadly, this is an easy 1/10.
This drama is top entertainment. It has comedy, mystery, action, romance, politics, fantasy, spiritual cultivation, brotherhood and family love. All of these elements are fused together in a delightful story of a young, intelligent, hardworking and high-EQ sales manager Yang Ling (Dylan Wang), who finds himself in the ancient kingdom of Dafeng, inhabiting the persona of an orphan named Xu Qi An. Using his modern knowledge to solve cases, he rises from a lowly constable job to a position in a prestigious group called the Guardians. He even gains the fancy of a royal princess played by Tian Xi Wei.
Weeks before this drama aired, paid trolls on Chinese social media started maligning it and the main lead. Why? Because in the dirty and corrupt Chinese Entertainment industry, bullies don't want a grassroots-backed actor like Dylan Wang, who didn't come from money and doesn't have powerful backers, taking projects away from power-backed actors, especially the highly coveted role of the main character of a hugely popular novel on which the drama was based.
Due to the popularity of Dylan and the novel, GOTD still topped domestic viewership charts despite the smear campaigns. However, some charts susceptible to the effects of slanderous post and shadow-banning could not escape the multi-million rmb worth of smear campaign.
Nevertheless, the drama gained solid footing after more and more viewers realized its first-rate quality. What impressed many viewers most was the phenomenal acting Dylan Wang brought to the table. This drama proved his acting talent that his bullies keep trying hard to undermine.
It is hoped that drama viewers have been made aware of the prevalence of smear campaigns in social media and will not be so easily swayed by negative press about artists and dramas in the future.
This series has everything-two dynamic leads with earthshaking chemistry, super nasty villains, slapstick comedy, melodrama, murders, detective work including primitive CSI, fantasy ninja moves, ghosts, really lousy CGI, AND a couple of kitchen sinks.
Seriously, you have to accept this show with an open mind, and just enjoy the ride. The show reminds me of some of the episodic films from Hollywood in the 1930s. It also has some similarities to a picaresque novel; the central characters journey here and there, having adventures along the way and meeting odd and memorable characters. The special effects are hysterically crude but I enjoyed laughing at them.
Is it perfect? Nah. But it is entertaining, keeps your interest for its thousand episodes, and has a satisfying conclusion, albeit feels a little rushed.
I honestly don't understand folks carping about Seven Tan's appearance and/or performance. I find her delightful to watch-l've watched several of her shows, and she's always compelling. Her energy and skill bring out the best from her fellow actors. Yes, she has a pert nose, but it goes with her face. She has a comic's classic face-she can appear homely in one scene (like when she's puckering up to Allen Ren on that roof) or very lovely (when she's dressed up for the beauty contest).
I liked Allen Ren in this show very much. I find his other dramas stupid or boring or just so so-so. He is gorgeous in this role with pretty costumes, and I like him better a little beefier as he is here. He has great chemistry with Seven Tan, and I could watch him watching her for a long long time.
2019. My family and I have watched it many, many times (to the point where I really believe I will puke if this is mentioned again), and it has never ever delivered anything else but surprise, laughs, and approving nods. In other words: it's a good show. My favorite character must be Fan Sizhe, who's name is Versace in Chinese. His actor (Guo Qilin) shocked me with how well versed he seemed in his role. And Fan Xian. Oh, let's not forget the MC. He really acts like what I would act like if I ever transmigrated into a world like that.
On top of all that, the political intrigue, oh god, the political intrigue. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT, believe it or not. And good thing is, the intrigue MAKES SENSE, unlike some other dramas (I don't wanna talk about them). Aaaand, there's the angst. When Teng Zijing died, I was really trying not to cry.
Anyway, let's not talk about that. The story flow was magnificent and logical, with some comedy peppered in here and there. A good mix, if you ask me. The action scenes were very nicely done, and most of all the props and clothing. They were BEAUTIFUL. Incomparable. So overall, this series is really, really good, absolutely binge-worthy, so now, go and watch it!
Although this is 40 episodes. I binge watched this until the end. The costumes. The story. The development of the characters. The chemistry between the actors. The script.
The scenery. Also very nice capturing of the landschap.
Thats why I love these kind of Asian drama's. They have such attention for details. Hollywood needs to learn from this.
The FL did an amazing job. I loved her whole journey. And she did do as she promised. Very smart. I love a strong FM.
They have pretty dramatic scenes but often switched with some lighthearted scenes. Like with her dramatically nephew of her banter with the Duke Su. So funny. I wished for more funny scenes. But I guess this drama is to serious and the themes are to serious for a lot of banter.
The character of the husband Shen keeps you guessing. His character was the hardest to understand. Just the depth of his personality. Just the why? I still don't understand. Is he good? Has he become bad? Does he really love her? But very entertaining.
Duke Su had also great character development. From cold to hot for Jiang Li. Love their story. I hate that they send him off "to fight" He is way to cunning and important to go fighting.
The end could have been better. But after 40 episodes I can only hope that Duke Su 'like always' keeps his promises.

This is an all-time great film. This is close to perfection, ! mean it. From top to bottom, everything is perfect. The martial arts and CGI is legendary. I never seen a tv-show with so many great deities and great fighters (never ending top fighters) and it's never a dull moment. Crushed 27 straight episodes in a few days because it's a rarity to find films like this. After films like Side story of Fox Volant, Who rules the world (one of the best female leads) and heavenly sword, I can't think of a film that has consistent martial arts and would exceed pass those mentioned. This is film shoulo be summarized is one word "Perfect"
Trust me, there is never a dull moment, I can't get over how they made this. I wish there were more films like this. I must say that I always love K-drama but oh my, C-drama is making some exceptional films, especially with amazing CGI and stronger female leads. K-Drama needs to take note because it's becoming too predictable now with soapy love helplessness plots like Alcadamy of souls. This film is really a must watch on all levels and it shouldn't be anything less than a 9.4 - this film is a legit 10/10 and is an all time great.

ample amount of humour to ease the pain.
The male leads (Tseng Jing Hua & Peng Cian You) chemistry is amazing and their acting is exceptional. The only negative is the stupidity of the police, but (are we even surprised about this?) it isn't too bothersome.
This series has the perfect balance between comedy, fantasy, family and detective drama. All 12 episodes are sprinkled with life lessons.
The show absolutely deserves a 2nd (and many more) season.
Word of Honor is a wuxia drama, based on Priest's novel named Tian Ya Ke. It means you will see many martial arts scenes, everything will satisfy you emotionally. I guarantee it.
The characters Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing, which are the leading roles, are very skillfully written and acting in the same way. You can see how much the actors attach importance to their roles in their acting. Zhang Zhehan, who portrays a character like Zhou Zishu, who is desperate but has found hope in the last years of his life but has limited time ve Gong Jun, who portrays a character like Wen Kexing, who lived his life in a dark/insane place and still one of his part a little child, both of lead actors... THEY SHOW INCREDIBLE ACTING!! I think the reason i love this drama so much is that every relationship is so deep. Zhou Xu/Wen Kexing, Wen Kexing/Gu Xiang, Zhou Xu/Cheng Ling. All of them is so pure and the acting is so good that it feels as if you are experiencing all those emotions. Not just the lead roles, all the actors/actress are like your best friend.
One of my favorite things about Word of Honor is definitely cinematography. They make you feel like the camera is your eyes. The arrival of daylight, the positioning of the actors, everything is to make you feel as if you are living there, and you feel that too. It will be a festival for your eyes and heart.
The production team gave their best to this drama. If you are watching a Chinese drama for the first time, it may be difficult to notice but I, as someone who has been here for 6 years, can see how much effort they have made for this drama. If I'm not mistaken, there are subtitles in 13 languages right now, and they do everything to give viewers comfort.
There is a lot to say but I did my best to make this spoiler free. It will leave a mark in your life, you can be sure of that.
It is truly the art of an actor to be able to play the role of twins so well. The story is really good and the actors are good. In my opinion, this series must be the best South Korean series. Its actors have been able to play their roles well. In my opinion, it is one of the best romantic films in the world. The actress in this series is a perfect actress and has managed to make this interesting. I ask all of you viewers to watch this fascinating and spectacular film whenever you have time and enjoy it. I was really delighted with the quality of the filming, the direction and the wonderful makeup of this series, and I hope you enjoy watching it too.
Ok... Now, few hours after finishing, I think I'm ready to write this review. When I heard it was banned but Chinese fans were smart enough to download all episodes, I was really excited to watch this. In the end, not dissapointed.
I totally loved all main characters, even tho I was kinda lost in their names, but that is fault of not official subtitles, which I truly hope will get better. LJS and RZM were amazing and their chemistry really did spark. To be honest, I'm not surprised Chinese government had to ban this drama, but it's pitty, because the story was just perfect. In the first place, this is drama about dangerous deadly game and few people trying to survive. BL aspect was just part of it. I'm about to read novel, so I'm looking forward the scenes which didn't make it up the drama.
I don't really like horrors so I was asking myself: "Am I really watch this just bcs is censored BL?" The answer was clear, to be honest... But I really loved the story. Sometimes it was really scary, sometimes not. Sometimes I felt butterflies in my belly, sometimes I fet like I'm about cry the whole night.
Every single doors containes different story and characters have to find clues and find our what's goin on. It's not easy, but when they work together, it's not even hard. The story is full of tension which made me watch whole drama in few days and I really recommend this one.
But I have some reservations towards the ending. I mean, ! can't say I didn't like, but neither that I did. The last scene just doesn't make sense to me. Overall. I really enjoy this. If you are afraid it's just bromance and you want BL, don't care. Yes, it is bromance, but as I said before, I'm not surprised China bannes it.
SPOILER ALERT >>> I haven't read novel yet, so maybe I just didn't get it correctly, but why did he have to make whole new world? Why not just new NPC? I mean, it was possible for his friend to create NPC which is able to come out of game, so why not do it again? I know it's not easy, but this is supernatural or rather kind of scifi show and it was possible one time. Why not again? And I would like to know who was that friend from high school.
