I liked it. the ending was quite poignant. “I came back for you, my love”🥺 obsessed with Zhang Zi Yi. currently going through her filmography after watching her incredible work in the rebel princess
Wow wow wow. Genuinely one of the best dramas I have ever watched. The acting was phenomenal. FL took my breath away. ML was freaking incredible. Talk about power corrupting people. I have so many thoughts. it’s 2a.m, I have to be a functional adult in a few hours so I’ll give a proper in depth review another time
I’m watched the double a while ago and this article is incredibly insightful. As someone who studied Othello, I never even drew those parallels. This is my all time favorite drama and seeing how much thought was out into it makes me love it even more
Finally watched this drama. i absolutely loved Xu Kai in this. I feel like this type of character suits him best. He was so funny in this. Bai Lu was ofcourse amazing too. I loved them together. I think this is my favorite cross-dressing C-drama, idk I felt like Bai Lu was somewhat believable as a boy at least compared to the other dramas were the fl has eye shadow and lipstick on while trying to pass off for a boy. I enjoyed it for the most part. It was better than I expected but the ending felt a little rushed, considering this is a 48 episodes drama, I expected a bit more. I liked most of the supporting characters. 2fl was ok at first but she got more and more annoying as the story progressed. I couldn’t stand her. the villain was also extremely annoying, I had to skip most of her scenes. Huang Song too lol I enjoyed the drama it though. I’ve been struggling to finish dramas lately but this was an easy watch
the second half is like a different story, I’m glad I skipped most of that part otherwise I would have hated myself for wasting so much of my time. I expected more on the romance side. the beginning was quite good but it got boring. I don’t even know why this had to be a rebirth drama tbh, that part stopped being relevant halfway through the show
Love Lusi in this. Her and Yang Yang had such natural chemistry. Usually I would probably find this kind of romance storyline boring but this was not at all the case here. The romance was so sweet and I loved how it was integral to the plot rather than being its own separate thing. There were a lot of interesting characters, I thought the villain was a bit disappointing in the end but I guess it’s fitting since he was a bit delulu about how much smarter he was than everybody else. In addition to the leads who I loved so so much, I also liked the character of Huang Chao. He got a fitting ending methinks. I‘m still getting through her filmography, but I think this is definitely in my top 3 of Zhao Lusi‘s roles. Overall, I thought the drama was well written. I usually get bored at some point with these 40 episode dramas but this was interesting until the end
