People need to understand that while Hua Yong's obsession is evident from the start, it took a process for Shaoyou to fall in love with Hua Yong. It went from admiring him, being his favorite omega, liking him to loving him.

And while at it, Hua Yong really wanted Shaoyou to fall in love with him so that he (Shaoyou) won't have a way out. He's taming him.

😩 He's still making me mad but I love him.

It's safe to say everyone is losing their minds over Hua Yong. That lunatic made me so mad tonight OMG I feel so sorry for Shaoyou. We deserve a real redemption arc for this.😭😭😭

Hua Yong is a psycho. He'd do anything to get what he wants and he wants Shaoyou. He's a huge red flag and an obsessed mtf who'd paint the world red for Shaoyou and we love him. Loving him doesn't mean we're justifying his actions because if I ever meet someone like him in real life, I'd run for the hills but he's a fictional character and he's a red flag and I'm literally color blind!

Hua Yong's duality is insane. He acts all icy and arrogant towards everyone, acts like an annoying younger brother towards Shen Wenlang and he's all princess towards Sheng Shaoyou. Like, man can win an Oscar.😌

Trust me, I wouldn't have written such a long paragraph if I didn't see the offensive comments people are sending towards the main couple. There's a different on having an opinion from being clear rude and hateful.

The last thing this fandom would need are toxic fans. Someone with common sense will see a couple they do not like and think “I don't really like them” and continue to be happy about their favourite couple without writing negative comments about their least favourite couple. It's all a drama, both couple have different storylines.

While others like the beautiful yet heart wrecking love story of Shen Wenlang and Gao Tu, others love the beautiful and messy love story of Sheng Shaoyou and Hua Yong. Different strokes for different people, we can't all like the same trope but no need to be toxic about it. Toxicity is a bad habit, let's try to change that.

Indeed they could have included more details from the novel to make us understand their relationship much better. I think in the novel, they were able to build it more naturally then the series and with Gao Tu and Shen Wenlang, their relationship in the series is being build better than in a novel. However, I'm still happy regardless about how the series turned out even though it could have been so much better.

When you pitch a story, you usually don't start with the character's background but with a hook. I think their relationship was built good for their dynamic. Hua Yong instantly fell in love with SSY 15 years ago and had his entire life revolve around him which was a solid foundation (or maybe I've read too much dark romance and this is so messy in the most unhinged way) and SSY fell in love with Hua Yong throughout the series. In the first episode, he was never in love with him but His Yong was just his favourite ‘omega’ and he had a soft spot for him. As an Alpha, he started being protective and possessive because he's an S-Alpha, Hua Yong is his favourite omega, and considering the power dynamic ... He feels the need to be dominant.

He started from having a soft spot for him, (And mind you, SSY had a female Omega who kept him occupied during his rut but he ended up brushing her off), then went to liking Hua Yong until he realized he really loved him (which was during the earthquake if not mistaken.)

The script was written a bit poorly since they excluded many important points but let's not speak on their relationship foundation.
