I tried to continue this drama but the level of irritation I have for the FL is just too high.
I already knew it's going to be a long, dragged out drama when I saw 41 eps, and then the leads already fell in love in the earlier episodes.
This particular FL, I'm beginning to dislike her characters in dramas, I hardly complete any drama she's in. At 32yrs, how oblivious can you be to how men and women relate, and you claim to be the boss of an organization who manages people everyday. Plus you have friends who have dealt with relationship issues.
I wanted to continue skipping scenes till the end but after reading comments and discovering she only got back to the ML after seeing he is wealthy, then there's no point in watching. It only means that she didn't really like the ML at first, as much as she thought she did.
To the writers of this drama, I don't know what was going on in your minds when you were writing the script but did you sit back to watch all over and see how flawed the FL's character was? You tried to paint her as innocent, plain hearted and naive but what we see is a dumb grown up lady that can't think for herself.
What's the point or how would you claim to love someone and you can't even stand by it, can't defend it, can't fight for it?? Even the husband of the FL's friend who was caught at a hotel with his side chick, they showed more courage about their relationship than the FL did in the entire drama.

Naive older woman, I'm okay with that. But just because she's new to relationship doesn't mean she should be devoid…
Well said on the FL not having common sense.. like she's just totally dumb

I initially thought my comment will be coming way too late compared to those who have seen the drama when it was newly released but seeing very recent comments, I think I can safely comment 😊
I'm loving every bit of the drama so far, though I'm just a few episodes in. However, I'd not fail to mention my observation on the very protective nature of Chinese parents. I say this because I've noticed in most C-dramas, not just in this drama.
I'd never understand why a 32 year old woman would still be treated like she's 18yrs old?! Everyone with their reasons and choices but I believe I'm not the only who thinks its unrealistic that a successful 32yr old lady in her career can't afford to get her own apartment. At least her brother tried to get one for himself, only for it to be next door to his parents house.
So tell me how they'd expect privacy from their parents and also freedom to do what they want.
You expect your 32yr old children to be home before 10pm and you're concerned about their relationship life?
How will they have emotional maturity if they ever get to be in a relationship? Look at the FL thinking her first boyfriend will keep his promises and come back to her.. that level of naivety at 32yrs of age! Why, because she's been in "shell" of her parents for far too long and doesn't even understand how relationships work or at least should be.
The reality is, no matter how much they claim they're ok with their daughter not getting married, deep down in every parents heart, they wish to see their children get settled and have a lovely home.
If this can be projected in different C-dramas then it means this is how Chinese parents are🤔
And I'll also not fail to mention that characters projected by the FL in this drama, they never know to cook. I'm not saying cooking is an achievement or a must but about 80% of C-dramas I've seen, FLs with overprotective parents never know how to cook.

okay you do not like it then it’s not for you, why searching for other people who doesn’t like it ? this drama…
Exactly! No hate at all. It's just very funny how some people expect that only good comments should be said about the drama.. why? As great as TITANIC movie was, it definitely has criticisms. There's absolutely nothing so spectacular about this drama so I really don't how or why some persons on this platform are taking too personal. Nothing in life is PERFECT.

Re the hopt, you gotta remember she's a young lady. Women are all victims of their feelings due to a plethora…
@Anastasia Orr and @Agirlhasnoname Look at it this way... The guy got into an accident that changed the course of his entire life for someone he thought was aware of what happened, only to discover that it was due to another person's lies. He took time off to self reflect after all was revealed but he was questioned by his girlfriend, asking why he went so far away... how?
And to the point mentioned about her being hurt that he thought she could go do those things, it was because he thought it was her at first. He didn't know there was another person who faked being the real daughter. As the movie progressed he realized she couldn't have treated him that way, which lead him to call his friend at first while was about leaving the place they went for holidays.
Again don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the FL's character was bad, I'm only saying her manner of asking those questions at the flower garden shouldn't have been in an "accusing" tone.
We all have right to express ourselves, male and female but how we do it matters.

did you watch it ??? she literally felt bad for him and didn’t want him to blame himself
Please try to understand points made before rushing to comment. If you read through very well, you'd see that I wrote "some" and not that she her character was totally bad.from the beginning to the end. I picked out only the parts I felt could have been better portrayed.

So I'm almost through with this drama and while I enjoyed it generally, I'd also say some parts I felt could have been done differently.
I understand it's a slow burn romance but there were several parts where it just felt natural for the Leads to hug 🫂 themselves.. not for romance sake but looking at what transpired.
I also feel there were instances the FL could have shown more understanding and care.. E.g In the episode where she got angry at him for not sending her a message when he went to the hospital. Her anger was not necessary, besides she was the first person he called even before his own mother. In the end, he actually sent the message but it didn't deliver due to bad network. If she had only calmed down and confirmed first before getting angry.
Also, ML wrote her a letter and sent post cards, stating what really happened that lead to the accident and went ahead to prove what happenedwith his friend, but in the following scenes when they met and when they went to the flower garden, it felt wrong to me that she was still trying to make the ML feel bad by saying stuff like, "I'm not touched, you concluded, you didn't ask me, why didn't you tell me, why did you go far away etc". That's not the time to start questioning him or making accusations. He's human too, and he only reacted based on the information he knows. If the situation was switched and she was the one who had the accident, how would she feel if he was the one trying to pin it on her by saying the things she said to him.
There's just this "the FL has to be pleased, coerced, pampered, loved more" vibe that C-dramas portray most of the time that doesn't feel right to me. The guys are humans too, can't they be pursed or shown the same amount of effort and patience and love?

P.S- This is just my opinion. All ❤️ from here.

I'm like almost halfway through this drama and I'd give it her flowers in terms of costumes, acting and overall picture quality💯
However, I personally think dramas with schemes and pretends from the leads hiding their identity is getting too much and it becomes a predictable drama for persons who are familiar with C-dramas, making them somewhat loose interest. I also personally feel hiding the identity (which is usually done by the FLs most of the time) isn't actually necessary or required to drag on for a long time. The first 10 episodes is enough for the MLs to unravel the mystery behind a lady who suddenly appears in his life. The next few episodes will be the Leads getting to know what either party is after and trying to defeat a common enemy or deal with their different enemies together. This generally makes a realistic plot, causing a beautiful synergy between the Leads.. and their romantic scenes would also flow naturally.
Again, this is my personal opinion after seeing too many C-dramas with this same kinda plot.

I'm currently on episode 3 and I am very pissed that they didn't address the fact that it was the sales manager who rushed to sign the warehouse agreement, that caused them to loose their goods. He doesn't have any right to get angry at what happened. He was in a haste to sign that agreement and it landed them in that mess. I've noticed his character since the 1st episode and it's been quite annoying but what he did in this episode was far too careless.
The drama director should have made the ML address the sales manager's character, because he pointed out flaws of the warehouse and was going to addressed the contract but that stupid man was just in a haste to sign. Same thing he did when the father of the ML was still alive.. he convinced the man to sign the agreement with the partner Company, which ended up being a fraud.
It's very wrong that the sales manager's decision to sign off that agreement without properly reading it was not addressed.

From the first episode the drama got my attention, was looking forward to the next scene.. which is a very good quality👌🏼.
I'm currently still watching the drama but I feel the need to mention this.
Why should there be hidden intentions from FLs in all C-dramas? I understand that it helps to build the plot of the drama but it should not be dragged or kept hidden for long. In the case of this drama, there was no need for the FL to hide her reasons in her quest for the truth. The part of the machine she gave to the ML's brother was enough reason for both of them to sit and discuss how to dig out the truth.
Also, the FL getting angry at the ML because she felt used by him(eps 11) , that's just very wrong because she also used him.

Chemistry on screen is subjective, and different viewers will perceive it differently. For me, truly grasping…
So who said both leads trusting each other has to be right away? The drama had close to 40 episodes, you mean to tell me that within all of that time, there wouldn't have been the chance to properly trust themselves before going ahead to marry each other while keeping huge secrets that would 100% damage their relationship?? If you got married to someone today and discover after a few months into your marriage that your partner kept secrets of his/her identity from you, how would that make you feel? 🤔
Like I said, you don't understand what it means to love someone and become a part of their lives. You said its because of the FL's responsibility to demon world, that's why she kept it.. same with the ML.. then both of them don't have any business loving each other in the first place since their duties to their groups is greater than their relationship.
I rest my pen 🖊 ❤️

I'll ask you this, if they were both bound by their groups to keep their secret hidden, what was the point to their love? Why should they love each other in the first place? And that's what I think the writer of the drama didn't realize. What is the essence of a love that lead to marriage with secrets hidden between them? When they both discover later it would seem like the marriage was founded on lies and they would hate each other. That was what the FL did when it all got exposed in the demon world, she didn't want to see the ML cos of his own secret which he hid from her too. A marriage can not stand with lies and secrets, it's only a matter of time.
Do you even understand the concept of two people coming together to become one? The love of family is different from love between a couple. So because she kept it from her family, and the ML also kept his own, they should continue keeping their secrets after claiming to love each other?? Make it make sense please!
You're failing to understand that love is trust and it surpasses anything.

You obviously don't understand what commitment is. I watch movies/dramas from a realistic point of view, so it's not just about analyzing a drama for the sake of commenting, for me, but relating it to a more realistic level. When she wanted to get married to him, didn't they try to stop her from getting married to a mortal? Did she or did she not stand her ground to let them know she will marry him no matter what? That was forbidden in demon world but she decided to marry him anyway.
So why didn't she use that same boldness to defend him that he can be trusted? The ML has is flaws too.
I rest my case.

Of course their relationship will not automatically transcend into a blooming romance or love. I guess I'm safe to say that this was a drag from the writer or directors. How does it make sense to go ahead and marry someone with a huge part of your life being kept a secret? It's just an honest question. They shouldn't have even gone ahead to get married in the first place because that secret part of their lives wasn't addressed, hence the reason why I personally did not feel the spark between them. For such love to feel natural, they both have to come clean between themselves first, then they'll both uncover the truth as partners and lovers. It's a different thing if either of them betrays the other after confiding in each other, that will be a justifiable reason for any of them to fight and defend what they are both fighting for or go their separate ways. My point in essence is, it does not make any sense for both of them to keep their secret hidden for so long. The ML was already in the quest for finding out what lead to his parents deaths, so opening up to each would have helped them discover who the real enemy was and fight the enemy together.
❤️

@Draco and @Whoissilmony, I initially wanted to stay quiet but you obviously didn't understand what I was addressing.
In my previous comment, I acknowledged the fact all dramas can't be the same, romance, fantasy or fiction. Nothing is perfect. If there had been situations where both Leads actually knew who they truly were, their love would have felt more natural(to me). The FL's initial intention for being close to the ML was to get something she was looking for as the Cat demon lord, it was not because she really wanted to. And there were different times like that, where she was only close to him because she was covering up something or wanted to find out something. Of course I'm not saying their romance has to be the typical type where the FL falls head over heels, or something unrealistic. She is a leader, yes. The ML also has a strong personality, yes. But knowing each others weakness and still choosing to love, that's one of the most natural things ever and it solidifies a relationship.
That's why it was easy for her to call off their relationship when they all went to the demon world and discovered that the Chanxi palace leader was the bad guy. From the ML's body language, if you really noticed, you'd see that he wouldn't have minded who she really was and he gave her many opportunities to confide in him, to tell him what is really going on with her. You can't love someone, get married and not share that big part of your life with the person you claim to love. It means her trust in him wasn't solid enough. How long was she expecting to keep it hidden and he wouldn't find out at some point, knowing the kind of personality he has??

And in my last statement, again, if you understood it, you'd realize that I didn't say he can't play other roles, I said roles where he plays a strong Male with a strong aura, fits him better. No one is perfect 👌🏼❤️

Although I'm currently still watching this drama but I'd just like to point out a few things..
Great cinematography, costumes and acting👍🏼. However, I didn't not feel the chemistry between the ML and FL. I understand that all movies can't be the same but for those who've seen "Love like the galaxy, falling into your smile, Hidden love, Prisoner of beauty".. you'd agree with me that there was very good transition of attraction and love between the lead characters in these dramas.
But the attraction between the leads in this drama wasn't it at all.. for me.
Also a lot of scenes weren't really relevant, some scenes were dragged..
I'm trying to finish the drama because of the exceptional character delivered by the ML.. as expected from Xu Kai😊.
P.S.. I think these roles best suit Xu Kai, instead of some goofy or playful character he portrayed in some other dramas (my opinion)
