i just finished it and im so ,,, baffled? the first 3/4 of it made sense and after that it felt like a fever dream i fear... i think i could have literally written a better plot myself
its a good drama for about 8-12 episodes and then it becomes reallyyyy confusing and surreal. the acting is solid, the chemistry is great, but the plot made no sense by the end. had me wondering if i fell asleep and dreamt the ending,,,
the episodes started out with a clear structure, showcasing the origins of different characters and how that impacts their decisions. up until a certain point i was able to follow it. i was enjoying the conspiracies, antics, and complicated feelings of distrust.
i thought i could somewhat predict what was going to happen, but i was soo wrong. maybe they were going for some layered plot twist thing where we as viewers kept getting tricked? but by episode 16 the quality had devolved and there were so many plot points that went down the drain, yet they were still conjuring new plot points.
as a sapphic, i was looking forward to the gl concept. the kissing scene is a dream sequence, but there is a palpable chemistry between the female leads throughout the show. i would say these actors really did the best they could with this crazy script.
theres a difference between creating a slightly fantastical, suspenseful drama vs making it so complicated and messy that no one can follow it. i wanted a thoughtful and calculated revenge plot, even if there were some crazy moments--i wanted a drama like the glory, little women, or marry my husband. some insanely dramatic moments, but it ultimately ties into a clear thoughtful concept.
this show is crazy and became increasingly hard to understand. i would watch the first 3/4ths and just imagine how it ends, ur better off that way...
