Im glad I'm not the only one that noticed 👀 I absolutely loved this show but the editing threw me off some…
yea! i think if it could have had faster cuts between scenes for them specifically it would be able to cover a lot. but yes editing wise there's some disjunction—glad someone who loves it echoed it cos i thought i was making it up haha
i thought i could handle bullshit and power thru but the thing that pushed my limit was the sex scenes. not the abominable handling of everything else but i lit just couldn't do it anymore AND I SKIPPED TO EPISODE LIKE 6 had most of my hands covered for end of ep 7 (u no the really "HOT" scene where someone wholoves him ummmmmm assaults him lmao but that's like the 50th time so) and parts of even their fucking date in ep 8 then i had to turn it off couldnt do it anymore beyond cringe idk how ppl can take this show without dying of embarrassment
i'm bored and attempting to pad out some time and while i won't write a review (it will not be charitable and i don't need people yelling at me): the choreography on some of these scenes isn't great. it's (referring 2 the choreography/fight scenes only here lol) better than 'not me' but i need them to speed up the frame rate or do snappier editing because it is so slow. it comes with a lot of time and budget for it and esp when covid conditions were worse it's tough; i will give them some leeway but wow it just feels so heavy sometimes, like they're moving with weights in their pockets
erm wow big arguments in this here comment section. lmaoooo i agree and side with the people who support victims<3 but hey maybe media does matter sometimes, eh? good luck 2 u all!
Why would ppl complain about this being women-centric, the main characters are the sisters and it's fantastic.A…
haha i like your comment. as an aside: i dont watch/like marvel stuff rly but im still kinda surprised she's not as big as male hulk~*~*~* but of coursenot LMAO. but that's the type of media where people accept crumbs. our bar is in hell
can't wait to start really fuckin' hope ill like it. a little iffy about the trailers (the music/pacing) but it could be fantastic. the writer is a knockout and i already love jihyun's char description. ready for some socialist-adjacent fun!
I don't understand why everyone has got to overreact by calling their first sex scenes "rape". Yes, I know, it's…
i hope to god you are not in a relationship. please. if you aren't with anyone i really hope your thoughts on this evolve because: NO. this thinking gets all of us in serious trouble.
while i don't agree with all of it (i think we come from two differing ideas; i think that capitalism is exactly what sets the rules and always has and BL hasn't been captured so to speak) this was very interesting to read and made me laugh. sometimes the masculine hold is almost comical because it is exactly what makes these shows absolutely fail and go into folly. so devoted to a certain type of supremacy but can't exactly blame them if this is the reception
i also HATE hate hate hate hate HATE HATE how sexual abuse and assault has to constantly be reimagined and litigated in these conversations. even admitting it happens (which is just....... fucking lazy and poor writing because it serves no TRUE purpose they just need it there to get the taboo points up and do PWP) brings people into a fucking tizzy and they cry the same things:
- it's just fiction and if this were that small or inconsequential than it wouldn't be a constnt trope and something that viewers CONSISTENTLY have an issue with (who majority happen to be GIRLS and some women but even if not !!! men are not creatures who have no control, they aren't another species, what kind of hypersexual rape culture nightmare?!??! worse when racialized) while not realizing just how much this content also affects the actual storyline and production value because it is /shit writing/ and easy - realistic??? which counters the first but the realism being part and parcel for relationships, particularly between two men, in viewers eyes will never not be alarming to me - to be expected (NO)
not that these can't be fun but everything surrounding it is cringe. anyway this was an interesting review, thanks for sharin'
tbqh idk if i'll watch part two and i'm probs not gonna finish the last episode (i usually do this with dramas i really like...lol) but this was a good show. it had major flaws (imo), deus ex machinas on many ends, and i think some of the acting and characterization could be VERY lacking but it made it up in production style, acting that was evocative at times (the last scene with the queen was STELLAR), a really really interesting fantasy storyline that kept you coming for more, good cast chemistry and obviously good chemistry between our two leads.
i dont think i will write a long review and my critique would skew more negative but at the very least i'd give this a 7.5 and at most an 8.5 (or 9 even!) which is good imo (i never ever ever give 10s). i know this ending is divisive and i am personally so frustrated with how much media is driven by the desire to continue to capitalize but i definitely think this is a show people can enjoy as a one-hitter as well (even with an ending like that) and not watch s2 (though they should if they want!) esp if you're not tuned into korean news and wouldn't be privvy to a s2 which many americans are not. i did want it to be more campy as well but it was funny too.
but idk i watched every single episode when it came out every week and i wanted to know more. i still do. i think people who like fantasy and stories surrounding death will really enjoy this and i think that's why i did so much. the themes at the end are gripping—i just wish the show took its own advice. things die because that's life and we have let them go.
this is a genuinely entertaining show—if you're more critical like me you will have disappointments but if you're wondering if it is worth it i think it is. definitely telling my roommate (who doesn't watch kdramas) about this one. i think if you like 'the sandman'—the show is COMPLETELY different in tone though semi-similar in theme—u will like this. idk how to explain it, it's just an entertaining fun good time, you wanna know more, and that's another show i had been watching at the same time. i would read a book about AoS (if it were fleshed out more/written better i genuinely said to myself for ep 19 i would LOVE to read this) just like i want to read the sandman.
i lied. i am writing a review. also i also lied i mean i'm nnot gonna finish ep 20 bc i'm a baby and hate finishing things but i think i HAVE to see part 2 the more i think about it. don't be mad at me tho i might ignore the new actress lmao but i'm sort of obsessed with the way this show is written and Uk and Uk's life (even if my critiques still stand). good for the sisters for finally making something better (i m o since i have to follow that up in every statement i make or people get really offended)
The way most people rate dramas only on the basis of the final episode is so funny.
i mean i can see why. you invest your time and energy into it and the ending (or not ending which is frustrating in itself) and this is the outcome. although honestly even 23m into the last ep i had a thought that this show, with its many flaws, is really engaging and fun. it's a good show but knowing the spoilers, it's frustrating ESP bc we know there's a part 2.
but if someone is like me and hates finishing things anyway (like series finales always make me sad! cos the show is over!) the could never end (me with mr. queen) but i can deeeeffffffff see how this spoils the viewing and the future viewings
he's an amazing actor and his voice is so beautiful
omg :O thank you for saying so, sometimes i feel over the top! i miss seeing yours! been so swamped with work but i can never stay way from here for long! hopefully what you've been watching has been good!
I love Yoon Shi Yoon but wish it wasn't in a drama that romanticised alcoholism (a major risk factor in suicides)…
def agree with the latter but i think user above makes a good point about the former. i def see what you mean tho—the more i think about it the more i get it
