I'm curious, do you even know what he's done? There are evidences.. Voice recordings... he even apologised and…
Yes. He was accused of two timing with a staffer. Which proved to be not true, the girl admitted it herself. You can google it. There were many articles about it a few years back. Besides that, he openly complained about the behavior of fans at the airport which gained him a negative backlash.
And now the second casting director of the drama stepped up to defend Huang Junjie, saying that his team knows HJJ, his personality, his acting skills, and that HJJ needs to defend himself against this baseless slander. He only has good things to say about HJJ.
So, obviously, they knew exactly who they were hiring and still hired him. Because they liked him and they wanted him for the part. And they still want him for the part, even now. You don't see such integrity often. Hat off.
the moment hjj is in this cast, antis will mass report this drama off. it’s better he’s removed to not waste…
Actually, he filmed 2 dramas since then. Yes, The Spirealm was dropped and removed but not because of HJJ but because it was a censored danmei. It was still sold abroad, is airing on iQiyi and is very highly rated on Douban. Not only that, he was an invited guest at the Beijing Film Festival, handing out an award just last month. So the film industry is perfectly fine with him.
Selling it as I bought it so take it with a grain of salt, but apparently, the first casting director of this drama went off on Cheng Yi stans who slandered Huang Junjie on Weibo like whoa! He didn't mince his words and reminded them of how many time Cheng Yi was treated unfairly in the past, how many times Cheng Yi was subjected to the same slander that they were now subjecting HJJ to and he seemed really, really angry with them.
It seems that some very heavy hitters want HJJ in this drama if the casting director stepped out like that. And HJJ's agency threatened Cheng Yi's stans with legal action if they didn't cease and desist right now. So, I guess it will come down to who has more clout, if the people behind HJJ or the other side.
I never thought there could be a person more shy and introverted than Huang Junjie. But lo and behold, Xia Zhiguang. No wonder they clicked so well and they had so much fun on the set together. They're so similar, up to and including giving the same answers to questions in interviews. I have never seen XZG as happy and relaxed as on this set. The same goes for HJJ. No wonder XZG said that he he wished the filming lasted a hundred days longer.
Well, bromance is a forced tag on Cn BL's, the ML's are never 'just friends' in these shows. As for The Spirealm,…
It's as much of a happy ending as Word of Honor was. Some people found that ending also unhappy because they had a certain expectation of how it should've ended, based on the book.
For me, both WoH and this ARE happy endings. In the case of The Spirealm, it's just very hard earned.
does anyone know what happen if they just dont enter the doors?
If I understand it correctly, when you die inside the door, you die. When you don't get out before the time limit, you die. When you refuse to enter the door, you die. Your only option is to not even start playing the game. Once you do, you're done for.
I'm curious what everything thinks of the ending. Opinions?
I loved it. Yes, it took Lingling 50 years but he managed to recreate Lanzhu and the whole world and found a way to be a part of it. So now, they have eternity together. It's the classic mythology tale of the hero's journey and him earning his happy ending.
Yes, he did a great job. You can see that he's a really good actor when he has a partner who actually gives him…
Agreed. I got stuck on ep... 28 of S1 of Reunion because Wu Xie's new female sidekick (as cute as she was!) or Pangzi's dating troubles really didn't interest me. I watch for the Iron Triangle not for... whatever that was. When it was said that the book author was involved in Reunion, I was really happy about that, I thought he understood why his books and the dramas were so popular. Alas. Since then, I hope he stays far, far, far away.
I honestly like all the Xiao Ges I've seen so far but my favorite pair must be Hou Minghao & Cheng Yi.
Huanjunjie really did a good job in this Drama.. I'm so sad that many people said his acting was not up to mark..…
Yes, he did a great job. You can see that he's a really good actor when he has a partner who actually gives him something real to react to. He was fantastic in The Big Boss and he's fantastic here. In the BTS, you see that XZG managed to make him open up and joke around, a sight unseen because HJJ is severely introverted. Their scenes together, be they funny or emotional were amazing.
But unlike others, I felt that he didn't have much chemistry with Zhu Yilong in Reunion, mainly because of the big age gap and few scenes they shared together. When you watched the BTS vids, you could see that HJJ was the odd duck out in the Iron Triangle trio.
This was originally a 40 episode drama that was shelved because of Huang Jun Jie's scandal. They finally released…
I hope that now that HJJ was uncanceled - I didn't get why he was canceled in the first place since it was proven that he actually *was* the victim of a crazy stalker fangirl - and he's getting magazine photoshoots and brand endorsements again, the company will release the second half of the drama.
I honestly cannot wait for this. It looks so wacko! Usually, vampires are all suave and mysterious. These are nincompoops who need saving from themselves. And I'm so curious about Big's part. Third-Wheel(TM) or the Big Bad(TM)?
I'm sorry that the drama got taken down so fast and put under lock and key again because it's fantastic, but I'm glad that it still helped putting Huang Junjie back on everyone's radar. He's been much more active online again now that he finished university - BTW, his art is beautiful! - at the airport he got so swamped by his fans that airport security had to help him out, he's doing photoshoots and being invited to events again... I hope it means he will get back into acting 🤞🏻
Also, from the BTS vids on X, he and Xia Zhiguang seemed to have had a real blast filming this drama.
He was given a rap song to sing. He liked it so he recorded a cover. Next day, it was pointed out to him that it contained the N-word. He immediately admitted his mistake, apologized, explained that in his excitement over the song he didn't pay close attention to the meaning of its text and promised to be more careful in the future.
Gorgeous guy and one of the sweetest, kindest, most caring people I've ever seen. The way Babe talked about him, about how Billy took care of everybody and of him in particular, made me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside.
