Maybe it's to save money.. But i guess it's not illegal or wrong to copy bgm.. It's not like they're using the same music . Well if they have a particular composer for the songs then it'll most likely be the same for bgm as well but I'm not sure how it works.
Am i the only one who feels like a few bgms are copied and used in this drama ?for eg the one at 19:57 in ep 8 seems to have been copied from the bgm that comes in ADOS when the dancers dance in the restaurant during the opening (when Zhao paner opens her restaurant and invites the top officials ). Other copied bgms were mentioned in other posts here in dramalist.
I need an opinion on whether to watch this drama or not . ADOS had raised the standard of chinese historical dramas for me so will this surpass it ? I dont want to compare both since both are different genres but I still want to know if this will surpass the storytelling aspect/plot atleast.
ep 29 & 30 were good! Yinzhang!! she finally had her moment. I think people looking forward to OTP will be disappointed…
Finally someone said it .. a drama is only unique if all characters are given importance . It elevates the quality of the acting and performance in the drama and hence the output. Yes ,GCF and XPE had their moments but now it's time for the 3 women to again shine as individuals and for other side characters too.

what you've mentioned are exactly my fav scenes too but with one more addition..the scene where he comes to meet her in the brothel ,washes her hand and then leaves while still looking at her from below, had all the sexual tension i could ask for.. the way they both stared at each other from afar was just sooooooo goooddddd.

I KNOW RIGHT...I'm glad people like us are there who are continuing to love the pace and plot.. people out there will be making idol actors more popular and boring and shitty dramas 9+ but professional actors who can really act subtly and dub well for themselves and also look pretty(chen xiao and liuyifei) are often ignored..its so disappointing
Main two characters are fine but the rest were useless tbh and even the production quality according to me wasn't as good as this ..just my opinion though as also stated above . Other opinions are appreciated as well
I rewatched the whole drama again and has clearer pictures of what was going on...What could have been the best…
For people who've been disappointed with this drama(includes me too) i'd suggest 'a dream like splendor' . Its not exactly wuxia or xianxia but a very subtle and beautifully executed drama with good actors. The cinematography and production are just so beautiful and thankfully there aren't any "wtf just happened" moments so far and even later it wont mostly have .
