I've rewatched this drama a good amount of times, preferably because its available on YT, and always gets suggested to me, I first saw it in 2010, and I was too young to understand love and relationships then but the more I rewatch the more I come to understand the story. It's a classic and one of my favorites that will make me laugh and cry.
happened to find this title on Kissasian, and tI almost didn't watch it because of one negative review, but the reviews before the negative said that this drama should be used to be compared with gems like BoF(Hana Yori Dango), and more. So glad I listened to tried it out, I COULD NOT STOP WATCHING THIS I BINGE-ED IT ALL NIGHT LONG.
They need to make a special tv episode or season 2! this has to be one of the best Japanese romance dramas, we haven't had a gem like this one in a long time....
Two old men passively aggressively pursuing a naive young girl. Ordinarily, this would be so problematic but Asaba…
yeah even Tomoya Nakamura (Asaba) commented on how young his lead actress was but he felt that they made it work to their advantage. The age difference didn't really bother me until l found out how old the actors were in real life, but the more I watched the drama the more I fell in love with Tomoya and Nana (Kiki)'s chemistry, similar to Itazura na Kiss (1&2).
she's a promising up and coming actress who has definitely caught my eye since I saw KonoKoiAtatamemasuka! I hope she takes on more roles, she's got a real talent for acting.
https://ok.ru/video/1862771870429 (hopefully it's still there) it's raw, I would translate it if I knew where to write everything out for you. (I'm currently subbing it for personal use, my mom really likes this show, but she hates waiting a whole week.)
As expected of Nakamura-san (Asaba-Shacho), that man knows how to kiss. I was wondering how they were going to film that, because Kiki (Nana-chan) is only 19, and Nakamura is 33. The last episode was amazing! I was seriously worried after ep 9, I thought the drama was gonna twist the ending on us. I've seen some do that...
I mean Asaba amazing, and I love his interaction with Kiki, they look like inspiring, challenging each other,…
I entirely get what you are saying, but for me the second lead syndrome died in ep 4 or 5 when Mako-chan said some thing to Kiki, very well knowing that she was hurt by the fact that Asaba and his ex had gotten back together. Even Mako-chan hated himself for saying those things, because he knew he was just doing it for himself.
It's true, Mako-chan is easier for Kiki-chan to be with, but I realize that "easy" is just another way for playing it safe, it's boring. When you really love something or someone, you don't want to just play it safe, you want to be in it for the LONG GAME. Asaba was also the first to make Kiki's heart flutter, he challenges her. He makes her want to work hard, because "being satisfied with just that" is not good enough. It's the same with ep.1 where her and Mako-chan tried to make him taste that boring looking creampuff.
This is the type of jdrama I want, 90s setting, older male lead younger female lead.

Lately they've all become 10 eps, forget the 11 episode limit.
