I wouldn’t agree that it is in a “class” of its own. It is rather lacking in class but everyone has their own standards to be sure.

“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”. Perhaps your imagination can create art where it doesn’t exist. I hear there’s a lot of “spice” without storyline or acting skills in content you can find on the internet if that is what determines treasure or a 9/10 rating to you. You do you. lol

Definitely fantasy and I say this as a woman myself. It is ridiculous and perhaps for younger inexperienced viewers sets unrealistic expectations or worse.

I don’t believe he actually follows through with it. Trailers are generally deceptive. He’s doing it to save her (yep this trope again), has her locked up but sees her there at the ceremony and she turns upset and runs away (her intention is to escape back to Yannan). He chases her, they fight and she jumps off the cliff. Ceremony isn’t completed imo.

Well, I for one am not lactose intolerant. In fact, I know the difference between real quality cheese and Cheez Whiz. There may be some who still enjoy Cheez Whiz in the world. I don’t feel in the least bit bad about not liking or appreciating Cheez Whiz. Enjoy your “cheese”.

This FL character has no idea what love is in the first place. I don’t care about her except to dislike her. Since nearly 100% of these dramas are written as female centric I know the ML will twist himself into a pretzel to be with her no matter what she does and in the end he will either end up with her or die trying. They are all written this way.

The only scenario that will save this drama imo is if the FL gets what she’s asked for…her death. She’s cruel AND stupid af but she thinks she’s capable and smart. Hope the general is cured and takes Che away after he gets his revenge and she is killed by her stupidity. Oh and I want her to find out before she dies that Yanyu slept with Yun and got her pregnant. That would be the cherry on top. I couldn’t care less if she gets a cure for Chuyi as it won’t be enough to redeem her character.

She is a fool and for once I would like the fool to lose her life rather than being saved by the ML to live happily ever after with him. This is so ridiculous and completely unbelievable. No one would put up with all this in reality and keep coming back again. He’d have to be the biggest loser with nothing going for him at all and that would mean he had no power or ability to save her in the first place.

I find the FL’s character neither like able nor endearing in any way. The acting on her part is so wooden like an automaton delivering her lines. I’m watching for the ML’s character but I really can’t understand why he is in the least bit interested in her anymore. It feels so incredibly ridiculous that he would continue to pursue her and save her again and again.

I think the mother is just a typical control freak and abuses her power. Her daughter is a tool.

The potential for a birth secret is possible to be sure. The concubine seems to be very manipulative and cunning. Something is really off with her.

Qi Lou is definitely duplicitous as you said and it is getting on my nerves at this point.

Couldn’t agree more about the abhorrent Princess. I couldn’t give a fk that she was traumatized by her evil monster mom, that is no excuse for bullying and mistreating innocent people and possibly worse. Hell, I’ve been traumatized in my life but I don’t turn around and torture other innocent people. That is 100% BS and I really hate some of the egregious redemption arcs in these dramas. In some cases, there are characters that kill a large number of people but they get a redemption arc and can live happily ever after. Or a character physically tortures and manipulates people around them and an innocent righteous person falls for them and they become redeemed and completely change their behavior. Nope don’t buy it, that is not even 1% believable.

Also, JQL’s maid would have to be an idiot to step into that trap.

This story is very very different than the novel wherein he takes her as his slave and physically SA’s her from the get go.

FL looks about as much like a man as I look like a five year old child. Zero believability.

Boring convoluted story, lackluster acting particularly by FL, weird mostly unattractive wardrobe for FL and imo nearly zero chemistry. Miss for me.

I’m fully aware of what snowflake means dear one, but it IS used loosely against anyone who has said they dislike something because they find it offensive and that is exactly what you did because you disagree. Now I imagine if Persian people were ridiculed your perspective would be markedly different. I don’t care in reality about this matter but, I strongly dislike childish name calling or categorizations/generalizations of a person as this or that and I believe in freedom of speech even if I disagree with what’s being said. I don’t just jump up or interject by calling people names.

Well, holding a door open is just being polite imo. I am a woman and I hold the door for men or women especially if they have their hands full with something or I don’t want the door to close in their face. I hear you and it is sad that there seems to be so much animosity towards each other in the world today. Keyboard warriors also keep increasing in number venting their personal frustrations on strangers. Always reading into things and assuming the worst. The name calling is ridiculous. It is very disheartening.
