For me, that would be the end of the relationship. I don’t care about his deep seated “abuse” reasons. Of course, she will hear his reasons later and forgive him. Then there is the fact his father framed her mother and put her away in prison and caused the death of her father. The ex’s personality and behavior prior to all this would and should have raised suspicion. Why wouldn’t he double check? He is already suspicious by nature. Doesn’t compute. Nonetheless, he lied and continued to lie. That is abuse pure and simple.

Her letting it all go in the end isn’t being sweet and kind. It is a lack of self worth and self respect. It is being a door mat. They shouldn’t end up together and likely never would in rl. Despicable dramas that imply women should be constantly forgiving and that is how a “good” woman should behave.

ML is put to death by her (with his encouragement to protect her and the country)

It makes zero sense that ML would not tell FL what he was up to…certainly she would have played along and even signed the divorce letter. I’m so tired of this trope of hurting you for your own good. Sorry not sorry, I would not have gotten back with him. He treated her like crap not once but twice.

Waste of time watching this but stayed with it waiting for something better to come along.

Certainly everyone has their own taste. I find it interesting that it tops Chinese domestic charts when the government has a heavy hand in censorship of long form dramas but for short form anything goes. The CCP must consider short form dramas as comprising a small audience, therefore inconsequential and not worth their time. Western entertainment product is often labelled too graphic yet Chinese short form dramas incorporate strong sexualization of characters and abuse.

Here there are a whole 32 watchers and a dismal rating. Perhaps you can turn the tide and take a nearly nothing audience to a LARGE one.

This is the most bizarre story I’ve ever seen. Except for maybe the movie Pulp Fiction. We have a load of trashy women dressed mostly in S&M or male fantasy garb and a young male who kinda looks like he is in or just out of high school who is supposed to be a medical master.

Almost right off the bat the ML has intimate relations with the FL lead (not his fiancée btw who isn’t interested in him) after she is given an aphrodisiac by another man. This takes place while the man is in the same room with them (unconscious??). Thereafter he proceeds to call her his wife and tell her she is pregnant with twins from him. He knows she is pregnant and tells her a day or two after their encounter. Whaaattt?..

This is only a tidbit of the crazy interactions between the characters. All the while the multitude of trashy women flit around serving one main purpose….

Apparently, someone views all the disconnected behavior of the characters as comedy or a “funny” storyline??? It comes off as a male pov wet dream. Not for me and I can’t understand why any self-respecting actress who desires a career would take on one of these roles. Some may remember you from this short drama but it won’t be for your acting skills.

I’m sure this short form drama will have it ‘s audience nonetheless.

Thank you for the suggestions. I just watched the first five episodes of Serendipity which imo is also a bit bland as well but a notch above this I think. Demon Hunter’s romance is a possibility but Allen Ren is hit or miss for me with romance and many are complaining about the ending (what else is new?). Destiny and Saving just didn’t interest me for some reason but I may look at it again.

I am watching Dominion and Devotion which is a short form drama and very very good. Story, acting and film elements are great but it is short form so I don’t have enough each day. 😢

You may be on to something lol. Wash, rinse and repeat is the method of cdramas and of late it seems far too bland and boring.

lol it is just boring and predictable. Everything has been done and seen a million times before. I’m only marking time and would have dropped if something better came along.

Ok, I just have to say it as every time Wu Mengya comes on screen I think of a pig’s face with lipstick and shark’s teeth. Almost masculine face and so much makeup. It is truly hideous. I know it is petty and I don’t even generally comment on an actors appearance but I have an almost visceral revulsion reaction every time I see her.

Makes sense although it seems the one episode a day is the norm for some of these shorts. It does seem it would be better to wait so overall the experience is more enjoyable.

WTH ep 22 is so ridiculous. Come on, the FL has the respected Wind Pavilion backing of her history including pregnancy and birth of YanYan. They already vouched for her once so this substitution story makes zero and I mean zero sense. They personally know YanYan and what he looks like!

Even putting aside the family's general ignorance and rush to judgement to support a stranger it is nonsensical that they would be in such a hurry to cast her and YanYan aside. She has been maligned horribly once so rationally speaking the Prefect should be more cautious than this. Isn’t he supposed to be smart and the arbiter of rationality for the people?

This story is so very poorly written and executed and the scheme itself is just dumb. How would a mother not recognize her child from six months ago because of a belt? She remembers the belt but not the child, really? The burn on his arm? How will this coincidence be explained?

I feel genuinely sorry for the actors being involved with such a lame project. Of course, they would have read the script so I can’t give them a complete pass. Guess the people backing and producing this project have no respect for the intellect of their audience. The story is totally lackluster imo.

This is an amazing drama both in story and acting! I’m shocked it also has women’s right’s enmeshed in the plot. Episode 11 is true cliffhanger and I can’t wait to see more. This rivals quality long form dramas.

Wow I watched thru ep 11.! This is an amazing drama. I can’t believe it is a short form drama. The story and acting are excellent. Such a nice surprise and what a cliffhanger on ep 11. I’m hooked and I truly wish this was long form, it is that good! Thank you for the recommendation as I almost passed on watching it! I’ve been watching too many short form dramas waiting for something that caught my interest to come along.
