It's definitely one-sided. Love does not behave like this. I can believe the dowager genuinely loved the physician and it was pure at one point but now that love has turned obsession and sickness.
For the physician, I honestly believe he's behaving like a toddler. You know how they have a toy, play with it, toss it aside, lose it and then pitch a fit when they see someone else with it. This is him. He had her heart, her love and everything but his ambition and ego like you said was more important. He was more concerned about his own advancement and he treated that love and her like it would always be there waiting and then someone came and took his toy so now he's a grown toddler wanting his toy back and everyone else's toys too just because. Ohh the anger I feel...
Yeah I stopped at 11. I'll pick back up after I've vented my anger for a while because I want to see how it ends. I love he fact that they have such a different family dynamic with the brothers actually loving and standing up for one another and the queen loving her step-son like her own. It's beautiful to see that. I am loving that. The FL is phenomenal, she is the reason I decided to watch and then I found out Suho was in it and I'm a big EXO fan and I recently saw him in another drama so I was like okay. And the guy playing the younger brother is so adorable.
To be honest there are so many likable characters in this which is rare for a historical drama - everyone is mostly deplorable even the royal siblings and parents but this shows us a healthy family unit between king, mom and the brothers. I know the king's ascension is questionable but his father was a horrible person so I'm not even upset about the usurp of the throne on that one what I am bothered by is the fact that it was the Queen Dowager who had a part in it thus giving her more of a stronghold on the king. I'm sure he wasn't aware of all her dirt though and probably used his disdain or distrust for his father to win him to her side without even knowing what she was up to. Other that that part, I believe the king genuinely loves his wife and his sons. There isn't a parade of women vying for power and position for their sons in this. Those are all good aspects but they ruined it by drawing our eye to people that are not the main characters.
I am holding out hope for a good outcome because this is a train is currently derailed and someone needs to fix it and quick.. Lol

Not one lie detected!!!! I am firmly convinced this is what happened and everyone who approved this mess should have their voting privileges suspended for a year. The writer needs to go back to the drawing board and re-think some things because why. And what confuses me more is they're not the main characters. They lured us in with Suho and my girl from Love Song for Illusion and then overwhelm us with the love story of horrible people who aren't even the focal of the drama but they really are.

Listen. When I tell you episode 11 baked my nerves and smothered them in regret. I so wanted to love this. And I was enjoying but the message is so confused. It seems like they're trying to make us empathize with the QD and that physician dude but I feel nothing for them NOT one shred of nothing. I get it, they were wronged but being wronged is not a license to do whatever it takes to get back what you lost.
Here's why I have nothing and no interest in their love story.... 1) If the love was all that, why was he dragging his feet on marrying her then. The old man, seer or whoever he is told him to marry her now if he really loved her and wanted to keep her by his side. He did not do it. He kept dragging his feet. She even confronted him about something he said, she was like I've thought of you as my husband the whole time. This man was never in love with her. He wasn't that serious because no excuse could keep you from the one you love.
2) If the love was all that to the point that you're willing to do all of this, where was this energy before. She was forced into a marriage. If he wanted her that bad he would have resolved to never marry and spend his life trying to get her back even if it meant dying.
3) If the love was all that for them to now be doing all this stuff behind closed doors, why not just run off with other now that y'all got the power and freedom to do so. This tells me you love the power and the killing more than you love each other. There is no love there.
There's so much with their love story that screams one-sided to me. I am inclined to believe that the Queen Dowager loved him sincerely but that man don't love her. And while she's playing big and bad now she's really not that discerning or smart because every time this woman shows a shred of humanness and regret that man that she love so much is right there telling her that it's not wrong with them going to the extreme they've went for their love. She is so twisted up with his words. Like how is your only regret gonna be that I should have killed the food taster like you suggested. She's angry about having control stripped from while also freely handing over the control of her own mind and will to this man who supposedly loves her. If he loves you as much, why did he drag his feet to marry you, why now that his wife is not there, he all of a sudden remembers y'all love or have y'all be creeping this whole time and if that's the case why didn't y'all just scheme up on an escape.
As you can tell I have questions and aggravations.
I love the dynamic between the brothers, mom and king. I like seeing this closeness but they been trying to rip that apart as they have ripped my nerves to shreds.
I'm holding out hope for the family to prevail and true love win but I'm on my last leg with this one. I'm really thinking about dropping it and coming back for the last 2 or 3 episodes because nope this ain't it. I'm tired of them for real.

They can do all the sad singing and flower bringing they want but nothing will make me have sympathy for someone taking the lives of innocent people because of the dirt done to them. Aftet going through that horrible experience you would think someone would not want to destroy lives in the same way their life was destroyed. Fine get your payback. She had him deposed. Okay take it out on him. Do dirt to him. Have your secret love fine. The deposed king deserves what he got. He was a nasty joker. I sympathize with her in that regard. As a young woman she did not deserve that. That’s horrible and disgusting.
However at the end of the day you still have a choice concerning the person you become. If I sympathize with the wicked path she chose I might as well sympathize with rapists who decide to become rapist because it was done to him or serial killers who become killers to medicate the tragedies of their life. Wrong is wrong. Thry have killed too many innocent people and the fact she is willing to kill the children of the current queen or anyone who gets in her way is just NASTY!!
She has become the thing she hated. She is doing what the deposed king did to her. She is no different and that’s what is so infuriating to me.
The current king, his wife and sons are a real family and they fight for each other and sadly no one fought for her. I hate that for her but the choices she’s made since. She has no one to blame but herself and that snake tongue man she’s with.
Undiscovered Dimensions of Crazy that is the level of crazy our Villain is operating in. He ain’t gone off the deep end. He is the deep end. WZX is playing this role. Give that man his flowers!!!!! Bravo sir. Bravo.

I’m on episode 22 and it’s still GIVING!!!! The villains are putting in work with the villainy and our FL said is a REAL ONE!! She really said naw he gonna take these cuts for how he tortured you. She said I ain’t afraid to die. I WILL KILL YOU!!! Now that’s a strong female lead!!!!!! She is a boss!!! All she’s done for the sake of love!! Usually it’s the men going to this extent!! Oh this drama flips all that on its head!!!!! This drama is a hidden gem!!!
This is my 3rd time trying to watch this but the writing of the FL destroys my ability to stomach the first episode every time does her character get any better. I love both the male leads from other dramas so their characters right now are not bothering me much but the FL’s character seems overly whiny and ungrateful. I know she has a health problem but some of the stuff she says is out of pocket and down right just ughh. Maybe it’s me but her in the hospital and the dialogue I just witnessed. I had to pause because I got a headache. I really want to watch this have tried so many times but I can’t get past her. Someone help!!!!
Ok. I’m watching this for the 1000th and that Meng Yi Ran was a delusional somebody. Just a delulu bird and her lil friend was the oxygen to her delulu fire. Just a mess. Like what in your delulu mind made you made you think-believe that this man who ain’t even spit in your direction wanted you. You’re not even an ant on the sidewalk upon which he walks and you mad. Gurllllll
Chile!!!!! Mr Zhao Yi Qin visuals and the intensity of this drama thus far got me 🔒in!!!!! The FL is giving. The SML is giving. The villain is villaining. They are giving us face, mystery, pain, conflict, brokenness, betrayal, love, hate-should I shouldn’t I. I’m mad but so in love. It’s GIVING!!!
