I understand where you are coming from but people were already agitated that they couldn't get enough of ml and the couple together. If they waited for longer I guess the viewers would lose their cool. Wu lei is a veteran though young so he has to have meaty scenes throughout the drama. So the makers got no choice but to make him a knight in shining armour literally
