Because ‘The First Responders’ is just the english title of the drama. The real korean title is : 소방서 옆 경찰서 그리고 국과수 (which literally translate to A fire station next to a police station next to a NFS).. hence why the story revolves around the people working in this building? The firefighter & EMT, the police, the forensic.. though I guess for this season, they will hv more focus on the EMT (seol and her medical team) instead of firefighters..
