I still wonder about how at the end of the last episode we did not see MeiLin wear a hairpin, Jing He finding in the forest the sachet that MeiLin embroidered for him... At least he was wearing handmade clothes by MeiLin on his death (chair). 🤡

I agree, but the majority of c-dramas just have tragic/sad endings. If they can't make up their mind which one is better, they give a bitter-sweet open-ending instead.
