i feel like this would've been a really popular one if the plot and characters were stronger. would've been more…
OMG so true!!! There are too many frustrating personality traits happening back to back in this show. It should be sweet and light - and for the most part it is so far - but what makes it frustrating to watch are actually the personalities of the characters!

Did you say "at episode 30 it picks up"? EPISODE 30?!?!

Okay so I'm on ep 32 and, despite loving the show overall for the most part, I have to say there is one thing I genuinely, strongly dislike about the way the story was written and that is the way they made it seem like the FL's best friend's boyfriend wasn't wrong to feel the way he did about her having money and him not. He was not man enough to be confident in a relationship with a woman who had more than him. That is NOT okay. He and his family have a very chauvinistic view of and approach to relationships. Why can she not have more than him? Why must he be the one to provide everything they have or she live within his means alone? How is that okay? The show makes it seems like that's an understandable stance to have. It is not. Sorry. I flat out disagree.

He did not love her equally. She loved him just as he was, less fortunate and all. He did not love her jas as she was - WITH money and all. He thought it fair to ask her to give up her lifestyle just to appease his sense of value and pride. To ask someone to give up and deny parts of themselves to appease you and your own self-worth is the most selfish goddamn thing I can think of. It's sickening. That's not love.

I dislike that the show tried to pretend he did nothing wrong. I dislike that it tries to convey people of different backgrounds can't work out because their values differ so much. YES, it DOES make things more difficult as they need to work harder to find the right balance that works for them but just because it's more difficult doesn't make it impossible or even rare. If he was truly confident in himself then her having money wouldn't have mattered. Her buying what she wanted, when she wanted wouldn't have mattered. It would change nothing about how he felt about her or how their lived their lives together. He'd just be happy seeing her happy and he'd know that she loved him just as equally and would be happy too.

In fact, think about how many other dramas have very independently wealthy FLs who have strong and lasting relationships with far less wealthy MLs - You Are My Glory immediately comes to mind as does Love Scenery.

The guy in this drama wasn't a MAN. He was just a weak piece of shit who didn't deserve the FL's best friend.

Also, I'm sorry but the one-sided, female-only viewpoint the best friend gives of why the FL is the one who feels…
It's really sad that it's okay for a woman to marry rich but it's not okay for a man to marry rich.

The double standards of societies are sickening.

She accepts him just as he is. Why can't he see that he's not doing the same for her. She's wealthy. That's a part of who she is. Why can't he see that he's not accepting that part of her by forcing her to live to within HIS means and give up the things she loves in the process?

His not being wealthy is okay with her. Her being wealthy is NOT okay with him. She's accepting all of him. He's NOT accepting all of her. He's forcing her to deny herself and that's unhealthy.

On ep. 29 I am SO GLAD the FL's best friend FINALLY told her boyfriend off for making her have to give up everything she has and loves just to appease him so he can maintain his own self-worth. She has to keep giving up everything just for him to maintain his fucking PRIDE?

Earning his own way and not living off her doesn't mean she should have to give up everything she has. If she wants to go somewhere and she wants to pay for it what's so wrong about accepting it? Why should he feel ashamed to accept what she can give? When he does the things he can afford to do for her it's not like she doesn't appreciate them either. If she turned her nose up at him then I'd get it but she loves the simplest things with him. Sunset walks and spending time together. Him making her happy doesn't require him spending money on her. He just can't let go of his damn father looking down on him for wanting to be with someone who has more than they do. That whole family's mentality is extremely messed up. It's all about their damn PRIDE.

It reminds me of the husband in Crazy Rich Asians. The one who cheated on the ML's sister in that movie. She had to hide all the things she bought for herself just so he wouldn't feel less like a man. His solution was to gas light her and treat her like she was the reason their relationship fell apart when the truth was he wasn't MAN enough to accept that she had more than him and was, overall, better than him in every way.

A woman should never have to give everything up to be with a man. Never. Actually, a PERSON should never have to give everything up to be with another PERSON - male or female. If they're doing it because their family is cutting them off or something that's fine but if they're doing it to make the other person feel better about themselves then they need to start running as far away from them as possible. That will never end well. That's what leads to cheating, abusive relationships, resentment, etc.

Whew! I'm on ep 25 now and I think we're going to make it past this hurdle without the drama taking a dark turn!

I'm on ep 24 now and I'm getting nervous. I seriously hope the show doesn't take a last minute dark turn with the business dealings. Like the srb (spoiled rich bitch) getting away with some bullshit that either prevents the ML from getting his promotion and/or gets the FL fired or both, or that other team's manager working with her (the srb) to steal the ML's business plan and get the promotion instead. That would ruin the overall good vibes of the show thus far. I'm seriously hoping with all my might that they don't go there.

This drama has turned out to be surprisingly good and wholesome and lovely thus far, with just a touch of spicy - just what I needed - so I don't want to be disappointed now.

I saw someone else on here say they never break up. I'm only on ep 24 now so I can't confirm yet though.

Once the leads become stable in their relationship, I must admit, they are adorable.

Plus those two senior account managers have become absolutely hilarious!

Spoke too soon. ON HIS BIRTHDAY she overreacts and gets sensitive and bails on him. All over a misunderstanding. It's his damn birthday! Why is it so damn hard for her to just talk to him about it? If she thinks he's kept a token of his feelings for his first love and she doesn't like it, as his girlfriend tell him that?! Her first instinct is always to RUN!

I'll give her credit in that she's improved enough to not stay gone for the rest of the night AND she did attempt to muster up the courage to talk to him about what was bothering her but she asked so indirectly that he missed the point entirely. Instead of talking things through with him properly - like a mature adult in a damn mature relationship, especially one that's headed towards MARRIAGE - she goes and builds all this shit up in her head. She's ALWAYS not giving him the benefit of the doubt!!! UGH! She makes me angry.

Seriously. What about the way he treats her - CONSTANTLY - leaves her to always doubt him?

Once they get through those first hurdles the romance between the leads does become rather pleasant and soothing. The other stuff wasn't stressful to watch, it just took away from the smoothness of the ride. But now, by the end of ep 9, things seem to have balanced out so it's truly enjoyable. Unfortunately, there are 33 episodes on Viki (I believe one might be a special episode) so there's a lot that can go wrong with the drama. I'm hoping it continues to be a smooth ride though.

I sincerely dislike how no one corrects that one manager for his petulant, insolent behavior and constant attitude towards the ML as his superior, but continues to allow him to portray the ML as the bad guy in the scenario. Be fair. Call out his unprofessionalism too, even if you dislike the ML's management style. I get that the FL doesn't want to correct him herself since he's her senior but what about the other female manager. It's clear she just doesn't care either way though. Plus the FL could find ways to point out the manager's biases without seeming like she's choosing sides. The story is written so one-sidedly against the ML that it gets frustrating to watch at times.

Oh! Another thing that pissed me off! She saw how the men in the office were trying to bully him when he took the position but she never tried to show him her support even when they were outside of the office. Yet when he put his foot down, justifiably so, with them, she had the gall to be upset on their behalf. Her loyalty clearly wasn't with him through all of it.

I'm on ep 6 and I've found that the minute there's the conflict between them the FL is quick to bail, immediately…
Also, I'm sorry but the one-sided, female-only viewpoint the best friend gives of why the FL is the one who feels insecure and why the ML is the idiot who handled things badly is also a no-no for me. I'm a woman but I like seeing equality portrayed in relationships. The fact is that, instead of talking to him and telling him how his actions made her feel, the FL's reaction is to give him the cold shoulder and run back to her parents. How is a marriage supposed to work with that kind of mindset? At least the ML is doing the work of trying to understand and bridge the gap between them. What has she done to bridge the gap and repair the issue? What effort has she made?

He's also the boss. Her taking how he chooses to handle his subordinates personally shows both a lack of professionalism and a lack of maturity on her part. Based on the best-friend's assessment of why the FL is so upset, she's showing she CAN'T separate work from her private life. Her expecting him to consider her feelings when he does his work is ridiculous.

Her wanting him to take the time to explain his decision to her outside of work I can understand - she's trying to get to know him still - but she went into it already mad at him, didn't give him the benefit of the doubt at all (she NEVER does) and then doesn't get why her accusations would make him throw up walls?? Yet HE is the one in the wrong here? She's constantly trying to back out of the relationship.

I don't like when shows do this shit. It's very one-sided.

Don't get me wrong. I've been enjoying the show otherwise for the most part but these aspects of it aren't working for me the way I'm sure the writers hoped it would. I get that many people will see nothing wrong with the viewpoint the show is going with. I just disagree...for now. Maybe (hopefully) they'll explain it better and I'll feel more satisfied again.

I'm on ep 6 and I've found that the minute there's the conflict between them the FL is quick to bail, immediately running back to her parent's home each time. As an adult who understands the work marriage takes, it's pretty frustrating to watch. I can see why the ML has no confidence in confessing his feelings to her either. She gives him no sense of security in the relationship. From his perspective, for her their relationship is one of convenience, one that she'll quickly do away with if it doesn't suit her needs any longer - as she's shown by her actions twice now. Each time it's external, work-related matters that she's allowed to affect their relationship too. She doesn't take the time to understand him before running out on him either. How could he possibly feel secure?

ikr they both has good chemistry and he is so considerate about miyabi
Ugh and then he proceeds to hit on her AGAIN! THIS is the man y'all want the FL to be with??? A man who has no problem going behind his friend's back to try to get his girl to break up with him? You guys actually think this man cares about her? HIS PROPOSITION IS THAT HE'LL FALL IN LOVE WITH HER IF SHE FALLS FOR HIM! Seriously?! They literally just finished taking about how that kind of love isn't real but that's what he keeps offering her. Then he played it off as a joke only to come right back to it in the end?

I'm so pissed off I'm done watching this show. He is sickening and she is STUPID and GULLIBLE.
