Hmm... I'm glad the ending kept us hopeful, but tbh... this drama stayed depressing a** f*** for me til the end...If you're in a dark place right now, I would never ever recommend this drama. It was not a healing drama for me, but just realistic. A lot of things were never spoken about, a lot of loose ends and nothing was resolved. But I guess that's life... And some past stories we'll never know about.
And I HATE how the main couple had just 10 seconds with each other even on the last episode and they didn't even exchange a few words o_o Maybe I'm greedy and expecting too much, because I know this drama focus wasn't romance. But still... this couple had intense chemistry and each episode I was craving for more of them, but well...we got maybe 10 minutes of them each episode, if not even less lol
yeah, I DO know that this drama is not about romance. But is it wrong of me to be disappointed that we had so little of them? T-T
I still loved this drama and I will rate it high, because it was beautiful, but I'd never rewatch it. It's too painful and real.
yeah...he was so horrible to her. Even to the point that I was utterly disgusted by him... she deserves so so much better. To all the women out there: YOU DESERVE BETTER!!! Don't settle for less!
I'm glad I took to mdl, I'm not the only one who thinks he was unfairly blamed. I mean, he's got so blamed that…
I was so baffled at his hyung's wife, because it wasn't even Doo Shik behind that wheel, but her husband. So in which universe would've been that accident Doo Shiks fault? WTF... His Hyung was also family for him. It was his loss as well. But she wished death upon Doo Shik on his hyung's funeral and years later she dares to say, that she won't apologize and even that she doesn't resent him anymore?!?! Why would she even resent him in the first place, IT WAS NOT HIS F***KIN FAULT!... ugh I hated that scene so much.
Even Do Ha (still don't like him tho....) apologized for putting the blame on Doo Shik(not his fault AGAIN!)... but that wife ...ugh.. unbelievable...
wtf... I'm kinda speechless at those people blaming Doo Shik for those accidents... all of that was not Doo Shik's fault to begin with! It was Do Ha's father's fault for putting all of that money in the wrong funds and then trying to commit suicide! And the car accident was an accident and Doo Shik was not even behind that wheel, but his hyung o_O Why the f*ck would the wife rash out on Doo Shik wishing he'd died instead of her husband and then years later she tells Doo Shik, she won't apologize and she's not resenting him anymore?!?!?!??!?!?! WHERE THE F*CK WAS THAT CAR ACCIDENT DOO SHIK'S FAULT? He was in the car with him and could've died as well... O gosh... I absolutely hate that wife of his hyung and I dislike Do Ha as well... ugh... couldn't stand those "forgiveness" scenes, because there was nothing to forgive... it was not Doo Shik's fault in the slightest... any of that... was kinda annoyed by this fact the whole episode today...
But GamRi grandma is my fave person in this whole drama now! I love her for saving Doo Shik!!!
Not gonna lie... really disappointed that we didn't get any Boo Jung x Kang Jae scenes today :( Or even just the leads screen time alone was so little today...Why do they put scenes in previews that won't be in the episode? So annoying...
I was so excited for this episode the whole week, but got nothing of them -_- Now I can't even be excited about tomorrows episode because I think they'll just meet at the end of that episode and the preview is always misleading :'( It's actually fascinating how little scenes the leads have together, but their chemistry is still exploding in those few scenes! If we would be put all their scenes together it would maybe just amount to 2 hours or less in all the episodes so far o_o Low chance they'll even have slightest of a relationship together, but that seems to be the nature of this drama... still wanted to see more of them even if they won't be together in the end :(
Wasn't quite satisfied with today's episode.... but I absolutely loved the elders scenes and conversations in the beginning. The highlight of todays episode for me :)
Would have been one of the best dramas I've ever seen, but they had to ruin it in the end :') I love slow paced dramas, so this definitely was a huge plus for me. But the mom's behaviour and unnecessary drama dragged out in the end really ruined the show for me... Unbelievable... Still loved their chemistry, but the FL became kinda annoying by the end and I just felt bad for the ML >_<
I find the over fluff and cringy scenes quite realistic.I've seen 30 year olds act celebrate every week since…
I've never said anything about being realistic or unrealistic. I just said it was too cringe for me. I also watched the BTS of the episodes and even the actors seemed uncomfortable at some point 😅
Just watched the latest two episodes. I liked them overall, but have to agree to some comments, that Shikhye couple was also too cringe for my taste. Kind of disappointed ._. In the past I watched every scene of them several times, but after they got together, some scenes were even difficult to watch just once >_< But I still love this couple and drama. But I wished for something different... more heart-fluttering and less cringe... It happens a lot in dramas that a couple gets boring or cringe after they get together. Sadly they became like that. But there a still some episodes left, where we will see new sides of them. So I'm anticipating those :)
So while eagerly waiting for the next episodes, I wanted to write down my honest thoughts about this drama. We're half way through and I'm still curious about what is to come...
And I think a big part of my obsession are the leads. Kim Seon Ho and Shin Min Ah. Both of them bring so much life and depth to their characters and them together... BOOM! Amazing chemistry! The acting is marvelous and especially heart fluttering during their romantic scenes. I've been a big fan of Kim Seon Ho's acting since his role in Strongest Delivery and he really nails melo and romantic scenes. His gaze is just indescribable soft and lovely. And don't get me started on his micro-expressions! He's an actor incredibly good in taking the spot light and making the scene his.
I'm looking forward to Doo Shik's story and the unraveling of his past. I hope the writers keep up the good pace. I'm kind of traumatized by the drama Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol... which had a similar sentiment as Hometown Cha Cha Cha and I really loved that drama in the beginning, but it became the worst case scenario ending total makjang.... Heartbreaking writers fail...
But let's be optimistic and hopeful :D Caaaan't wait for the weekend... Why does this week feel slower than usual?
Saw that this drama was trending again and I remembered how much I loved it when it aired. Definitely gonna rewatch it soon :D Was surprised by the amount of negativity in the comment section tho ._.
I don't really understand the amount of hate this drama and especially the FL is getting lately. It's okay if u didn't like the drama and the characters, but judging the people who actually liked the drama is kind of weird. The FL is in no way an angel, but she's also not the devil you make her out to be. Her character development is actually one of the best parts of the drama. I still remember how much I cried watching the scene where Sang Tae fed crying Moon Young... One of the most heart-breaking scenes in my opinion.
I loved the flawed characters and their relationships so much in this drama and there was never a scene that bored me. So for everyone, who didn't watch this drama yet. Just start and form your own opinion. If you like it, great, if not, also great! To each their own, but don't go around judging people for liking it...
Wow, this was so enjoyable to read *-* It's been quite some time that I've seen the drama but I missed HJP and wanted to read some comments and discovered your review. Thanks dear. I enjoy it very much :)
Hmmm.... just watched the last episode.... and I feel empty :( Not quite satisfied if this really was the ultimate ending. I love HP so much, so even tho I liked the episode overall, it definitely wasn't satisfying as the last episode of this wonderful drama. It's been such a long journey.... but somehow I feel empty....
... I don't know.... I just feel empty....and sad....
I really enjoyed this episode and also anticipating the next, but I do have tiny doubts about the show in later…
Yeah, please no... I'm still traumatized from Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol.... that drama was so amazing, warm and cozy... until they ruined it in the last few episodes and made it a horrible makjang -_-
It doesn't have a low rating. It's just that it has a lot less viewers and people who ranked it. I'm watching…
Ah okay, that's what you meant. Well, I feel bad for all the people missing out on this ^^ Maybe part of the low ratings might be because it's based on a Japanese book?
I havent seen hometown cha cha cha but its sad to see this one with low ratings it honestly deserves so much better,…
It doesn't have a low rating. It's just that it has a lot less viewers and people who ranked it. I'm watching both dramas and like both a lot. Completely different vibes, but both incredibly enjoyable. I think it's just easier for people to get into romcoms than slice of life dramas.
Still at least we're watching and enjoying this incredible drama :D
The first two episodes were nice, but I'm not quite hooked yet. As of now there's nothing really special or unique. If it weren't for Kim Seon Ho and Shin Min Ha, I'm not sure if I would have started this drama. But I think it was a decent start, so I'm gonna watch it further.
I thought it's kinda weird that Doo Shik is super ultra nice to everyone, but kinda mean to her. Yeah, I know he still helped her a lot, but he was even mean to her when they first met. Maybe because she was an outsider? Not a village resident? Not sure... he must have had his reasons for acting that way.
Still, it's super great so see Kim Seon Ho again. It's quite the opposite character of his previous drama as Han Ji Pyeong. Where he was a loner and here he is super friendly with everyone ^^
Both Min Ha and Seon Ho are sooo beautiful and their dimples!!! Just one of the reasons I would watch this drama til the end even if the story sucks lol XD

The plot itself isn't really unique and there are quite a lot of clichés scenes. But the thing is.... clichés exist for a reason. Because people usually like specific scenarios. And I'm totally in for absolutely well-made clichés. Be it the romantic scenes, the childhood destiny, the jealousy trope... I'm in! I'm currently totally obsessed with this drama. Every week I'm looking forward to this heartwarming and cozy drama.
