Can people leave the toxicity of Chinese social media in those specific social media platforms and don't bring it here please? What's the point to bring all the beef in here as well? How about we enjoy the drama and discuss drama-related topics? The drama is enough drama for me already 😂
Seriously, what exactly do these people mean by saying YY's acting lacks depth? Please, enlighten us on your definition…
I didn't see much of YY's dramas but YAMG for example is one of may fave dramas ever and I really loved his acting there. It was absolutely natural and real. Sometimes I think people are so used to seeing exaggerated or strong expressions that they don't know anymore how people actually do act in real life... Especially reserved, introverted or just quiet people...
You are not alone, trust me. However here people not only hate him but also the actor that plays him. I kept seeing…
I totally like his acting. I have never seen him in another drama before but he's nailing his role here for me. His acting is really good and I do find him quite handsome. Why would they hate the actor tho??? Will never understand some folks. People just love to hate :D
I might get hate for this as well... but would XQ show even remotely the same angst and pain as him, I'd pity her character more. But I put the blame mainly on the writing or censorship for this. As I read some comments, it seems her character in the book had much more traumatic incidents than a controlling mother. She is much more broken and depressed, almost a living corpse which explains her and her fears much better. It really shows why she's so self-conscious, wishy-washy and all... But in the drama it never came across for me... I'm wondering if they will show more of her past, because it was just too less for me to actually feel the same sympathy as I have for SY for example...
I might be alone in this, but I actually do enjoy Meng Yan Chen's scenes... The comments make him out to be a total jerk and creepy person, which I think he is not. He's as broken as XQ... He had the same upbringing as her, so I pity everyone who had to grow up under that evil woman. His drunken scene where he was so concerned about vomiting on the street and apologized repeatedly to the not-present cleaning lady, was actually kind of endearing. He has the controlling nature of his mother, yes. But he's actually also kind and not the typical rich douche.
The caterpillar analogy was pretty on point. Both him and XQ are similar. But she has SY as her light and is able to break out of her cocoon... He grew up to be dependent mainly on XQ, so he has clearly abandonment issues as well. I'm not even sure if he's really in love with her as a woman or if he's just projecting all his feelings on her because he's used to it and doesn't know any better.
Anyway I do enjoy his scenes with Ye Zi. I really hope she's genuine with him... I still can't figure her out. She seems sketchy somehow. But I'd feel bad for MYC if she's also just after his money or even accused him of something even tho he has been nothing but nice to her...
I know some people hate MYC but i honestly think that he should be the only family member Xu Qin keeps contact…
I agree. I always see just so many negative comments of him, but I actually have empathy for him. He's as broken as XQ. At least XQ has SY as her light... but he's still down in that darkness. I hope he's also capable of breaking out. I actually do enjoy his scenes with Ye Zi. I really hope she's genuinely interested in him. He would be too pitiful if she's also just manipulating him for his money. He's actually not that bad of a person the comments make him out to be. How he was apologizing in drunken state for vomiting on that street to the cleaning lady was actually really endearing and shows he's actually really kind, but got that controlling nature off from his mother.
A few moments of seeing her act cute while driving the new car were worth it for me!😍😍Damn, she was cute…
I absolutely loved that scene! Their dynamics are so chaotic 😂... It would have been so much fun to see a bit more of them together.. well, I can just imagine how chaotic their dating life will be :')
After watching the last episode, I can just affirm again that this drama deserves a much better rating. At least something over 8.0, if not higher. Hopefully future viewers will give it a try and see for themselves despite the rating.
I really loved the ending! It was wrapped up quite well and we had a glimpse of how the future would look for all of them. I know this wasn’t a drama with focus on romance, but as a sucker for romance, I was more than thrilled that we did get slight romance for our leads. Their tension was sizzling and the dynamics they had was pleasantly chaotic because they were just so completely different from each other. I really needed more of them! Why do non-romantic dramas always have better romance and more interesting couples than actual romance dramas??? They make us hooked so much on the couple but then let us thirsting for more even tho we know this is not a romance drama. At least the car scene in the last episode gave me a glimpse of how their dating life would look like and it was chaotic and fun lol
I also loved the reunion of the Jeonmok kids and how they all gathered to help her moving. They were just normal bickering friends, which was so delightful to see. And they ship our leads as well haha :D
This was quite a fun journey. I will definitely miss our leads, the second couple and the whole gang and their bond.
Okay, the rating is totally not doing this drama any justice. Of course, everyone has different taste, but this low rating is so undeserved, it makes me kinda upset. Compared to the dramas who were/are airing at the same time and have much higher rating, this drama deserves at least a similar rating.
I agree that it became kind of slow in the middle and the whole „planning and strategizing their conning“ parts might not be everyone’s cup of tea. I found it dreading as well sometimes, but it still deserves a much better rating.
I especially loved the leads chemistry. Yes, this was not a romance drama and there was just slight romance, but am I the only one who really loves this kind of slight romance in a non-romantic dramas and find it really thrilling? Even more than in actual romance dramas?? The leads had so much underlying tension!!! I know one should not compare dramas and I’m sorry for that, but as I watch all of these drama at the same time, it’s just hard not to compare… Everyone has also different taste and opinions, so a lot might not agree and it’s okay. But compared to the chemistry of current leads of dramas like “King the Land“ and „See You in my 19th Life“, this couple here had much more tension and chemistry in my opinion. It was subtle yet so sizzling!!
And I’ve watched Kim Dong Wook’s „My Perfect Stranger“ and this drama back to back now. And I really love the random grimaces he makes sometimes. Did someone else notice this as well? I’ve watched quite some dramas of him now and I find that kind of endearing 😂
As a leader of a dangerous job. Ur teammate is ur important asset. One little mistake will cause someone life.…
Does that explain his rude and immature behavior towards Jiang Yu and his obsession about being first? He's too excessive. Maybe I can understand his demand with the training and I know he has great responsibility as the leader, but one doesn't have to be a jerk to protect his teammates. I hope he softens up a bit and manages to motivates his teammates in a more positive way.
the fl, his parents all left him as he meant nothing for them in his childhood and teenage now suo jun too had…
Yes! Really looking forward to good character development.
After loving Yang Yang and Wang Yan Lin in YAMG, I was totally fangirling after Wang Yan Lin showed up as Jiang Yu. So I hope we don't have to wait for too long until we can see their bromance :D
I don't like Meng Yanchen too... But I wonder why people oppose Meng Yanchen x Xu Qin but they can accept Ling…
Did you even watch that drama? 😅 Ziqiu didn't love Qianqian in a romantic way. And how is Ling Xiao the same as Meng Yanchen? Meng Yanchen is legally Xu Qin's adoptive brother. Ling Xiao was just someone Qianqian grew up with.
the fl, his parents all left him as he meant nothing for them in his childhood and teenage now suo jun too had…
Tragic past might explain but no excuse his rude and immature behavior towards that new instructor. And his obsession with Shili Tai and being the best and first in everything is just toxic. I get that he has nothing beside his career but he can't force everyone to be as passionate about Shili Tai as him.
I know he will get character development and there will be bromance with Jiang Yu, but until now ML just not really likeable.
Both leads should get counseling or therapy before they should even think about rekindle their relationship.
I don't like Meng Yanchen too... But I wonder why people oppose Meng Yanchen x Xu Qin but they can accept Ling…
Eh? Ling Xiao and Qianqian were not siblings in any way? They were just neighbours, who grew up together. And Ziqiu didn't have a romantic storyline with her whatsoever.
Everyone hating on the FL... but ML is not so likeable either 😅 Did I miss something or why is he so rude and unprofessional towards Jiang Yu? They just had one debate at that congress. But ML is acting as if he stole his best friend's place and that is so immature. You're a grown ass man, stop acting so childish!
I'd hate to have a superior like Song Yan. Yes, he's remarkable at how he puts himself out there to save people lives, but that doesn't excuse some of his behaviour. Especially as a leader and an instructor. He's forcing his so-called "honor", work ethics and inhumanely training sessions on everyone who works in that fire station. His pride for Shili Tai is almost toxic, I'd say. And he's such a party pooper. Isn't it exhausting to be so grumpy and inflexible all the time?
I can't wait until both leads get some serious character development...
Hmm...I really loved this drama up until ep 14... Afterwards it felt like a completely different drama to me. It got sooo ultra heavy on the political part and I guess this took all the joy from this drama for me. I've seen too many historical dramas with political plot around the palace and it bores me now. So many annoying side characters who get even more screen time than the characters I like. I don't know... at some point I just started to skip-watch this drama. It's a shame, because the start was so good! I loved the dynamics between the leads, but afterwards they became too boring as well. I like their individual scenes more than their couple scenes sometimes 😅 I know things got serious and the characters had to develop into more mature characters, but why do I feel they got kinda too boring and serious? And maybe I'm the only one who found ep 33 and 34 and that self-sacrifice ridiculous. I will finish this drama because I came so far... but it definitely lost me along the way.
I love how she defends her man, one of the best FLs I watched, she didn't chase him without respect to herself,…
We usually just get to see the protective trope the other way around. It's mostly always the men being visibly protective. So it's a pleasure to see the woman being protective of her man, taking his side, being a pillar in his life and reassuring him that he can depend on her. It was so heartwarming to watch ❤️ Sang Zhi is definitely one of my fave female leads now 😊
So ML said he also had liked her before? Or is it some mistranslation?
I think you meant that eating out scene with his college friends in ep 23, right? Where he said, that he had a crush on her back then. I think he just said that, so they know that he really didn't think of her as his sister back then and to save face of Sang Zhi, so that they think he liked her first and was the one who approached her.
