In my opinion, this drama overrated. I think Go Ahead (https://kisskh.at/40911-go-ahead) is far better than…
I love both dramas dearly and they're both rated high on MDL. Go Ahead is my fave chinese drama, but comparing is not needed as they have quite different genres. Hidden Love is mainly a romance drama and Go Ahead is mainly Slice of Life and Family drama. I think on MDL people really love romance dramas and there is nothing wrong with it :)

This was absolutely heartwarming and BEAUTIFUL!

It might sound exaggerated but every time I finish a drama that I feel so content and happy about, I start to feel immense gratitude for things I usually take for granted. Be it the eyesight I have, to be able to watch the scenes and read the subtitles or the hearing that I have to be able to listen to voices and music. I’m so happy to live in a country where I can peacefully watch dramas and enjoy myself. Sounds weird, but that’s how I feel 😂

This was such a great romance drama. This is how romance is done right. I absolutely adored this couple. They made me feel whole lot of butterflies and brought me to tears as if I’m the one in the relationship. Their acting was so incredible natural and authentic. It felt so real! I will miss them so much!
I’m so happy we get to see more healthy couples in dramas recently. I’m really impressed by Chinese dramas these days. After „Meet Yourself“, I’m happy to rate another lovely Chinese drama 10 stars this year.

I also loved Sang Zhi’s relationship with her brother Sang Yan. It was so fun to watch them quarrel and be ordinary siblings. The cast was so perfect... it's gonna be hard to be head over heels for other dramas for quite some time 😅

Anyway, I’m happy to have watched this drama. And I look forward to rewatch it in the future.

Really thankful for all the people who put this awesome drama together and made it the gem it is.

I hope so too 😊 I've read great things about the novel, so I do hope they can bring justice to it.

Today's episodes actually answered your question - they don't have a reason to like each other, they just like.…
I guess you're a novel reader and can't really see the POV of someone who didn't read the novel and can just form an opinion off of that.
I didn't need a reason of them liking each other. I need to understand and feel what kind of relationship they had in the past, so that I can relate to their pain and feelings in the present. I can't feel any of that in the first 5 episodes of this drama. The few minutes of flashbacks surely don't do justice to their current behavior towards each other.

I never said they should've acted like adults. I said they felt more like middle school students even tho they were in high school and pre college. Don't put words in my mouth.

Dear novel readers, I feel you but I just didn't read the novel, so your opinion of the characters from the novel just seem to differ with mine, because sadly the drama seems to not deliver the characters how they should be.
"In the novel that, in the novel this..." This is the drama. I shouldn't have to read the novel first to understand and feel with characters 😭

In my believe I shouldn't have to read the novel if I want to watch the series. So the drama adaption is sadly not well made then, because her character nor painful past comes across in the drama at all so far. Her behaviour towards the ML feels just like the obsessed typical annoying second female lead despite being the FL.

Why does it feel like he's falling in love with her all over again every time she has one of her funny antics or is so incredible protective of him... His eyes says it all! I can see the love all over his face 😭

Okay, already commented on it earlier but after finishing ep 6 it's really bothering me now.
It so rubs me the wrong way that FL still proceed to approach ML even after she is in the belief that he has a girlfriend. That's so low and makes her really dislikable.

Her asking his colleagues secretly for his contacts, visiting him at his workplace, smiling to herself after he's nice to her... even AFTER thinking he already has a gf and getting rejected by him several times?
I guess I'd be okay if she did all that knowing he is single, but she doesn't and still approaches him in every way she can.

Yeah your comment was really long, but its wrapped up with one last magic sentence "the visuals are top notch",…
Haha 😂 Everyone should give it a try and form their own opinion anyway 😊
If everything else can't catch my interest anymore, the visuals will surely do the job 😂

I'm on ep 5... and so far it's okay. 5 episodes are maybe too early to judge, but I can't hide that I'm a little disappointed that this drama didn't meet my expectations as of now.
I was really excited to see Yang Yang and Wang Chu Ran in this drama. Both are excellent actors and well... their visuals! Can't complain about that 😂 Both leads are GORGEOUS and fit visually so perfectly! I thought they could create immense sizzling chemistry...

But...why do I find both lead characters in this drama not really likable so far?
I think with 40 episodes they could've given us a better and more in depth of how their relationship started, how they were dating and how the break up affected them...
Yeah I know.. they will show us snippets of flashbacks in future episodes. But until they do, I can't connect at all to their past or current relationship and therefore to their overall present interactions. I couldn't really connect to the flashbacks they've already shown or rather everything felt kinda superficial... Their first meeting, their conversations, the break up... just kinda unnatural and no depth at all. I can't get the pain of their break up because the flashbacks didn't really show us the depth of their relationship. Their past just didn't come off as one you can't forget over the span of ten years. I just didn't feel anything. And that sucks, because their present feelings and banters are a built up of their feelings of the past.

Why did Song Yan take a liking to her back in high school? She had pretty much no personality and just followed him silently like a puppy... And am I the only one who thinks they acted too childish and immature in those flashbacks when they were in high school and pre-college? I don't know... I thought I'm watching middle school students with adult faces lol The conversations were sometimes a little bit flat and more of how children interact.
The chemistry definitely wasn't there in the past and I can't feel it that much in the present either.

As of now I like Song Yan a little bit more than Xu Qin. Maybe because we see more of him and the firefighters crew. Xu Qin feels like she still has no personality and unable to communicate just like in the past 😅 Am I the only one who gets annoying second female lead vibe from her? Usually her trope and character traits are displayed as the "pitiful" SFL who broke up with the ML in the past due to outside forces and know wants him back because of regret and lingering feelings.

Also it's just ep 5 and the ML had to save her several times already... I hope they stop those "coincidental" meetings at accident scenes. I wish to see a more natural approach to their development.

Song Yan has more chemistry with his best friend haha... I really hope nothing happens Suo Jun. He is played by a well known actor and isn't even shown at the top of the support roles. So either he's going to change departments or he's going to die. I really hope he's not going to die... I like him so far the most out of all characters 🙈
I thought Song Yan acted pretty childish when he saw that transfer letter of his. Yeah, it wasn't good of Suo Jun to hide it... but let that man take care of his family. His fiancee waited for 5 years and he has responsibilities towards his family. Song Yan practically guilt trip him. I really disliked him at that moment and his so called " honor". His obsession with honor, pride and being first in everything is rather toxic to me. I guess that comes from his painful past, but still...I hope he gets a character development..
And I really really hope nothing happnens to Suo Jun >_<

Sorry... didn't really want to comment that long 😅
I'm watching further and hoping for a good character development of both leads and hope their relationship gains more depth and chemistry. Because I don't feel them so far.
The visuals are top notch tho hahaha!!

OH GOSH they are sooooo endearing! This got to be the cutest drama and most adorable couple I've ever seen ❤️
I was grinning so wide the whole time that my face is hurting now 😂
Their relationship start is so authentic! Like you can feel it's the first for both of them. The kisses are also authentic and natural for a first time relationship. It's adorable and slightly awkward, but they are practicing and slowly getting better 🥰
LOL at them planning their intimate skinship beforehand... I was laughing my a** off 😂
I had to repeat so many scenes that it took me 4 hours to finish two episodes haha 😆
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! Best airing drama right now and I'm sure it's gonna be one of my faves if it keeps going like this :D

Agree fully. The entire production is let down by the editing and the soundtrack (save for 1 or 2 good tunes).…
Totally agree! Everything else is actually really good and that's why I'm so frustrated. It's such a pity that the messy editing is ruining this so much :( Gonna put it on-hold for the time being... T-T

I never said it's the worst drama I've ever seen. I said the EDITING is the worst. Reading comprehension needed.

No reason? I gave plenty of reason. And I've never said that I hated the drama. I hate the editing. I could fully enjoy this drama, if the editing and music would be better. It's my honest opinion.

I'm 15 minutes in ep 5... I think I have to drop this drama. The acting is really great and the plot is highly interesting, BUT oh god... I just can't stand the messy editing and music anymore. I think in my 15 years of watching Kdramas I've never seen a drama edited this badly. wtf was that random 2 second scene of her at the pool after he opened his eyes? Seriously the scenes are sometimes cut so randomly that I just can't immense myself in the drama...
They're in his house, then a split scene at the pool, then it switches to mystery guy, then again to ML house, then they are eating in subway, and then at they're at the beach taking a walk... The location and scene change is so abrupt...it's making me dizzy...

And the music is just so bad as well.... What's with the clown music when the little sister thought he was drowning himself in the pool? Just didn't fit the scene at all... even if they tried to make it "funny" or comedic of her exaggerating... It just didn't fit at alll!!! I seriously believed the editing and music is gonna get better, but it's so messy... I wish people would re-edit it...T-T

He is still an introvert... Nothing wrong with being an introvert and introverts do smile too.
I think you meant he is more happy and expressive.

Yes! I can't wait 😊 The cast looks promising! I'm not so sure about the plot yet, but really curious how they're gonna pull the powers of. Someone who can fly?? Hope it's not gonna look ridiculous 😅
As for GYJ, she was amazing in her role in Sweet Home and she was also badass in the S1 of AOS as Naksu. So I know she can do fighting scenes and is physically capable of a role like that.
Looking forward to this drama 😊

So, I usually don't do Cdramas because they are just not for me. I usually don't like their vibe, jokes, cinematography…
I had the same opinion a few years ago, but since then I tried several Chinese dramas and I knew how wrong I was. They make really wholesome dramas, especially slice of life and youth themed ones. I usually don't like the the ones which are solely romantic comedies, but the ones with slice of life in it are really heartwarming and mostly gems which imo are not comparable to other countries. I'm an avid Kdrama watcher but gotta say, the dramas airing in 2023 so far, I liked the Chinese dramas more than the Korean ones that I've watched.

And I highly recommend my faves:
Go Ahead
Meet Yourself
You Are My Glory

School-themed and youth ones:
Forever Love
Our Secret
When we were young

Sport-themed:
Falling Into You
Nothing But You

All of those dramas have really healthy relationships as well and almost no dubbing with most of them :)
