Not all the series picks up from the first episode. I started only now. Currently at episode 6 and I am liking it lot. Episode by episode it is becoming interesting. Give another two episodes before quitting.

Here the SML is not so irritating, he does not bother her nor tries stupid things to get her. When he comes to know who ML is he gets concerned for her and becomes suspicious of ML, but he does not become blind and genuinely tries to find the culprit instead of trying to prove ML the culprit. More than ex lover here he shown more like a good cop serving the public with utmost sincerity. There will be rare times you will get angry with him but from his POV he is right to be wary of ML since ML is murder suspect and he genuinely cares for FL so does not want her to get hurt but he also does not interfere in their relationship like annoying pest.
