I am so stupid. It only just now dawned on me that "Arisu" (the name of the main character) is how you pronounce "Alice" in Japanese.

Adachi comes across really strongly to me as demisexual! I know the "blushing virgin" is a character trope in BL, but the way I see it, that's not at all how he is portrayed. There's a small but very significant difference, and the age of 30 is part of it -- you don't normally last that long as a virgin if you really, really want to lose it (regardless of your cultural/moral conditioning), but Adachi simply hasn't met anyone he wanted to be with who also wanted to be with him (which is another consequence of being ace or demi-ace -- those feelings arise so rarely, and the chance of having them requited as well makes the odds of hooking up with someone somewhat astronomical -- compounded by the fact that as an ace/demi-ace, you're not really *looking*). Of course, Adachi is also an introvert who lacks confidence, which doesn't really help, but I don't feel like those are the crucial factors for him (unlike for Tsuge, where they were -- he was so much more eager to grab the chance when he got it).

Agreed, I just watched episode 1 on Crunchyroll and the subs were really good. I could only find two episodes there though?

I think you have it right, though the editing makes the time jumps pretty confusing. And I do agree with FreshKicks that it felt like lazy writing -- I was really looking forward to Zon having to pull his socks up and go win Saifah over "for real", but instead it was just a huge prank and everything that happened was real all along. Zol really likes to fuck with her brother's head, doesn't she? And I am so disappointed that Zon was being super cruel to Saifah and then suddenly just changed his mind again, offscreen, with no real explanation. I really feel that this could have been done so much better.

It's pretty obvious from the start that this is an exented ad for the grocery store, and the short length and infrequent release of the episodes are very much in line with that. But even so, it surprised me with the quality of the acting and the gentle, sweet chemistry, and despite everything it's become one of the things I really look forward to every other week. Both Jeff and Gameplay are very talented, both in their RL professions (music and cooking), and as actors. Jeff has said in interviews that he planned to quit acting and focus on his music, but then we got the announcement that they were both cast in KinnPorsche, so he must have changed his mind, and I for one am glad.

So, if you go in expecting a full drama with a big cast and lots of plot development, you will be disappointed. But if you can just take it for what it is, it's easier to see all the good points of it.

I may have it easier since I live in a country where there is no Tops Market, so I can just handwave that part as "fictional" or irrelevant in my head, and just roll with it, lol.

MDL doesn't accept smiley icons, so when you add those they turn into question marks when you post. Made that mistake myself :)

I clicked a few spoiler tags without realising they were for future episodes. And a lot of reactions to tagged posts have been open. I managed to close the tagged comments before I was too spoiled with specifics, but since my unwillingness of being even vaguely spoiled is my problem and not anyone else's, I'll rather cheer the rest of you on but stay out f it myself.

I've been fairly active here so I just didn't want to disappear without telling people -- not sure anyone would notice or care, but just in case. It wasn't meant as an accusation.

I don't use twitter and don't follow many accounts in IG, so I haven't been spoiled there. I don't want to get into an argument about this, and my policy isn't to demand that others be considerate of my wishes, but rather take the consequences of my own spoilerphobia and stay away, even though I love the community here. I hope you all have lots of fun and interesting discussions while I'm away!
