IMO you don't really have to watch a story for the leads, you are the spectator so you choose what you want to watch. You can choose to watch the entire episode but I won't. I only watch the GL couple because I'm sincerely not interested in anyone else in this story. Also, I don't watch hetero dramas anymore since a few years so I'm not watching it for the leads at all.
