I haven't watch japanese version either but in korean version story is pretty similer but there are some changes also .... and ending is not trashy like this one.... its not bl but ml and chef is shippable in korean version.... and kim jae wook as a chef amd gay character is too hot to handle..... there are some moments between ml and chef.... u can said its kind of romantic moments.....just watch korean version..

You should watch it in my opinion.... if you like strong /smart/cunning ml and especialy wuxia dramas like ancient era than watch it... and superhumans with super abilities martial arts master than watch it too....

Now jiang ni has a family member too..though its not blood related but atleast like a family a close one from her native placr...... like i said before this drama especially character here is intresting and has their own role enough to make me want more and more.... the only worst thing about this series is its only 38 episodes long.............. than again i have to wait for another non romance wuxia drama..........
