I understand your frustration; however, you could see this Xianxia produced tv adaptation as a slow and light…
I don't understand how you keep interpreting every reply in every incorrect way possible. I am genuinely saying this. No hard feelings. I was pretty clear this was about LGBT and their representation. Hardships that are not LGBT related is completely irrelevant to the topic at hold. We are talking about a series potentially trying to straightwash it where the original work is LGBT. This was never about you or how stories you like don't have to be related to how you see yourself.
What I said about the series are valid concerns considering the controversies it has been getting continuously. You wouldn't be getting what Untamed got if not for people persistently requesting and bringing out their concerns on the internet. So, your layback and stay quiet approach doesn't make sense when you bring out 'The Untamed' to compare. You don't get things laid out to your hands. You have to ask for it.

When I talked about representation it was obviously with bringing in the straight romance and trying to make the series seem straight from the public's point of view while using an original LGBT content. To you, representation maybe not be a big deal and this is just an epic story. Maybe you never had a sexual identity crisis while growing up. Maybe you never felt like you were abnormal. Maybe you never felt guilty towards your parents for your sexuality. There are a lot of reasons why gay people want representation. It's so that the next generation don't go through what they went through. Isn't it sad that a large portion of LGBT representation is in pornography? That's why every representation counts.
And the fetish issues you mentioned are not BL issues. Those are issues in general even in heterosexual media and art. My problem with being fetishised is where a lot of these people who likes to pair two guys as a couple together don't actually support LGBT problems like marriage, adoptions etc. They do this either cause they don't want to see them date opposite-sex celebrities or they themselves want to secretly date them and these celebs can apparently change their sexuality to being a heterosexual just for them. Or, they do this cause they are horny teens and this excites them. They will also go to great lengths just to clean up anything related to LGBT for these celebs in the searches. They become homophobic and sees LGBT as a negative connotation after the series ends.

That is what bothers me though. They are doing this just cause of profit and fame. Once the BL craze dies down, they will abandon this whole ship. What do LGBT gain out of it. Nothing other than people fetishing us and taken our representation away. They are not doing it so that China will allow them to air full pledged LGBT series in the future. I also hate how once the chinese actors become popular through this genre, they and their solo fans(chinese fans especially) become all allergic to anything LGBT related later. It becomes a forbidden word. It's like they want all the positive fame gain out of it but not the things LGBT people face.
I am kinda annoyed. Being someone from LGBT, I really don't want them to ruin this. I would have rather preferred them not making it if China is not ready. All the controversies surrounding this drama is making me uncomfortable. I don't want this to become popular if they put in some straight romance BS and get away with it. Then, more production houses will start taking LGBT works and transform it into lowkey straight romance. And, it bothers me. There are already not enough LGBT representation works. Don't take away that from us.
now thats an ending
