Teasing. It's called teasing. Are netizens so sensitive they can no longer recognise slightly sarcastic teasing?!? It's these interactions that make the show watchable.
What I fail to grasp - willing blindness, I suppose - is why people are unable to see that AI is closer to post…
Yours is an interesting perspective. And my question is: Why is there a portion of humanity that actually wants this and is, one could argue, successfully pursuing it? We are very weird creatures 😶
Yep, it's substituting the amazing work of actors, voice actors, singers, musicians, painters and illustrators…
I can't help but think Hollyweird has been doing this awhile; with the relentless remakes and reboots and endless comic book hero movies - no need for a real life, creative scriptwriter when the stories have already been used to train the systems
Yep, it's substituting the amazing work of actors, voice actors, singers, musicians, painters and illustrators…
Writers too! How many people use it to 'create' even simple paragraphs now. I think we've been exposed to AI quite a lot already, with scripts being quietly AI generated
I hate AI dramas.. they should put an end to them all together not only in the the face-swapping... It's great…
I can't stand AI stuff either. I can't really fathom how there's even a market for these productions! Doesn't 'AI face' give people the hee-bee-gee-bees? It's pure uncanny valley for me. It seems like an even worse progression on from actors whose faces can't emote due to cosmetic procedures, into the complete dehumanising of human stories. So disturbing.
Thanks for the update on Tian Tian. I honestly found it both interesting and entirely puzzling to read that ."..she has come to realize that public figures do indeed need greater public scrutiny." She is a victim of an undeserved public shaming (I remember even when the earrings were revealed to be fake, she was slammed for having fakes) And her take away is that it's still her fault and she should grow up and accept that being a public person means she deserves greater public scrutiny!?!
My takeaway...how do we develop more empathy? How do we teach compassion? How do we learn that we don't own other people - parasocial relationships notwithstanding, idols, actors, artists do NOT owe us anything. .
Lily Alice always sure to emphasize that actresses that didn't even need to lose weight in the first place lost…
TBF, this is directly translated from South Korean media - nothing to do with Lily Alice. It's very much the norm in SK, to make comment about people's weight and appearance.
...her extremely slender figure, with bones seemingly visible... Love Song Hye Kyo but I can't believe ANYONE wants to be described thus. Skeletal frame is a toxic beauty standard by ANY cultural measure.
Bromance is straight... 2026 and there are still people who don't know what bromance is.
Thanks for your gatekeeping. And for telling me who I am and what I can and can't understand. Art released to the public, is open to interpretation, regardless of what the creator states. You clearly have a STRONG opinion. It's yours...
I LOVE IU. But the first 15mins of this is just so trope-filled... I think it's going to be an eye-candy, brain-extraction, popcorn view....for total escapism only.
This series is Good , visuals are good , every actors /actress acting natural , story philosophy (world peace),…
I agree it's urban fantasy. Taiwan is so great at making shows with naturalistic acting! But I don't agree Xian Xia is garbage...just a genre that's not to your taste maybe
Can anyone confirm; the literal translation of the title is "Spirit Medium" right? "Agent from Above" is such a clunky title for such an awesome show. Even "Agent Medium" would've been...something.
Great article. I've been putting this on hold because I know once I start, I won't be able to stop. The images are gorgeous and the background of the story is intriguing.
It's a pity the comments are peppered with -ve. For anyone who thinks that girls can't be strong, very co-ordinated and physically capable: Either you've never been around a girl. OR the girls you've been around are making themselves small and not being themselves around you, because they're worried about how you might react - they think you might be hurt, upset, feel vulnerable and weak and they don't want to hurt your feelings... because they're working from the assumption that you don't know how to control yourself when you get emotional. Drop your biases and try to just be your unique self. Then those around you can be themselves too and life will be a lot less lonely.
Agree, I think she should continue this hard mode. I looked into what caused her to suddenly do this, it seems…
Sadly, Public relations (PR) and Management Agencies, along with Troll Factories, do this for actual work. A rumour about that kind of donation seems far more sinister than just an 'opposing fan group'.
Wow, the comments here surprise me. So basically... • Being a public figure means you should expect to be slandered • Don't call it out because that will make you more of a target • Complaining about it makes you somehow pathetic/a crybaby • Making a statement about taking legal action is a threat and fearmongering
Putting all of these reactions together...it's almost like... *gasp* our words have meaning!
In a culture where lives are made and lost over "reputation"; the more people like Jenny, who can afford to pursue it legally, do so; the more likely it will evolve into a change for everyone. Meanwhile Compassion and kindness go a long way
This was my first Taiwanese drama, and if this is what they’ve been quietly producing, I’ve clearly been sleeping…
So excited for you to discover all the gems in TW-dramaland! I see in your bio, you're a romance fan. I highly recommend "No Regrets In Life". It is very realistic and 'grown up' romance, with a cast of some of the best Taiwanese actors. I think it's on Netflix. And then there's the movies...!

Posting some interesting Insider perspective/ BTS stuff from Chinese Dramas
Regardless it's perfectly fine to interpret what you're viewing, for yourself. It's left open in the actual show, for a reason.
