On Put Your Head on My Shoulder Sep 10, 2022
Finally found time to watch this. It's lovely! One of its small gifts for me; Gu Wei Yi's internet searches of whatever pops into his head at any time - How does the "patient scanner" work? Who created the printer? How do I fix my mobile phone screen? - evidently I am not the only one *phew*!

I love that this drama finally, FINALLY played out, how I think public marriage proposals and grand gestures should go. To put a person you supposedly love, in an untenable position like a public proposal or 'grand gesture', where they can't say no, is disgusting to me. They are a horrible example of co-ercive control, that has been normalised by "Hollywood" and K-dramas - we've come to expect them as the dramatic high point, the denoument of the 'romance' genre. I could write an essay...but the writer has set it up in such a way that we all know she's being 'set-up'. So we can all have the correct response (I hope) of cheering YU CHUs bravery in saying no.

OMG I love this Shiro! 🤗🤣
My favourite hoodlum (and by hoodlum I mean hoodie wearer) continues to be So Ji Sub in "Oh My Venus" *sigh*

What about the romance?
I personally found I enjoyed the show more if I completely ignored the romance bw ML/FL. The secondary couple had more chemistry/comedy/conviction. I agree with Kunaga Kushi, it works better to view this as a comedy. It has some gret LOL moments and is gold for pure silliness.

Ughhh The infantalization is major cringeBut otherwise, was a good watch
I agree it's very, very cringe for sure, but I think, very typical SK 'aegyo'.

By 'dubbed' do you mean 'pixelated' or 'blurred'? I'm genuinely confused. But also...Wu Ka Ren, blurred or otherwise…
Sure the character is NOTHOT!! But Chris Wu?! Many people would disagree...it all begins with "Autumn's Concerto". 😁

I found him to be super cute in "Tale of the Nine-Tailed" - a shining light in a drama I found otherwise pretty…
The amount of empathy he managed to make me feel for a killer, still disturbs me, quite frankly!

I found him to be super cute in "Tale of the Nine-Tailed" - a shining light in a drama I found otherwise pretty lacklustre.
But my favourite is his support role in "Stranger/Forest of Secrets". Wow!

Yep, ep 10 was harrowing. In keeping with the pace of some of the earlier ep's, big things happen much faster than you expect, whilst the ML/FL story, continues on at an excruciating pace.

I am personally, absolutely loving this drama. I can comfortably say it's my favourite of 2022 so far (watching C, TW and K-dramas) It has fully fleshed out characters, in realistic situations. And it makes me FEEL things...frustration, sadness, compassion, self-righteousness 😆. I think the writing is exceptional. And despite the ending of this ep., I definitely think you can see the growth of the characters. I am looking forward to the last 2 ep's to see how it all gets rounded out.

In what ways do you think "Coffee Prince" is like "Oh My Ghost"? Very curious as I can't see the resemblance at all 😬

I'm still overall enjoying this show. The show at the beginning reminded me of misaeng but now it has become so…
I totally agree it became so tropey! It lost me completely at Truck-Khan.

I think I'm getting more from this drama than you, but I may very likely be filling in the gaps with my own 'stuff'. I totally respect your point of view!

Sure she manipulates him, but to protect her child. I'm for that! Plus he is well aware of what's happening. It's definitely equal between them IMO
