This is expansive! I actually enjoy the titles that are puzzling, or 'trash', because they encourage me to learn a bit more about the culture they emerge from. But, when the literal translations that work, are dropped for something else. That 'yanks my chain'! The two reworked titles that make me the most cross: K-Drama, "Forest Of Secrets", changed to, "Stranger". AND C-Drama, "You Are My City and Fortress", changed to, "You Are My Hero". Whywhywhy?!?
For me. His best kiss is with Japanese senior veteran actress, Nakayama Miho in Butterfly Sleep film. That film…
I agree Ji Changwook nails it (🤭) in Suspicious Partner, but I just don't get the same feels from him as I do from KJW...except maybe the bath-house scene in The K2 🤔
The discussion board doesn't seem to be working on this page so I'm posting my topic here: Sorry this is a spoiler but there is a kiss scene in Ep 8, that is then reviewed at length in Ep9; IMO, done in such a way, that is in keeping with the silly style subversion of drama tropes, this show keeps doing. It's kinda hilarious, but also HOT *fanning myself*. Add to that, in the following scene, the 'typical' k-drama roles are reversed between male and female leads, in how they react when seeing each other for the first time post-kiss.
BUT the point I am gradually getting to is, KIM JAE WOOK IS A MAN WHO CAN KISS! Sure it's for the camera, but still it does...feelings... things! "Her Private Life." Now this! I think he is officially my favourite K-Drama kisser
Please, if you have any other KJW kissing K-drama rec's, I implore you to inform me. OR if you wish to argue the point "who is the best k-drama kisser", I am willing to sacrifice my eyes to viewing any scenes you may recommend, so that we may properly compare.
This drama is definitely targeted for female audiences. Everything seems to be told from their point of view and…
Can you explain what it is that makes you identify it as targeted to 'a female audience'? That is a VERY broad statement - people who identify as female, are very varied and have very varied viewing interests, Are you saying it in some way excludes male identifying viewers?
I have just wasted... 🤔... Filled an ENTIRE weekend, plus my day off, catching up on 32 episodes. And now. NOW I have to wait an ENTIRE DAY for the last ep!? Curse you Cho Na and your acutely appropriate recommendations! ❤
Thanks for this! I was completely unaware of the show, but what you describe sounds right up my alley ❤ Now if I can just find a translation of the novel as well 🤔
