Lmao I can confirm one thing - Chinese people know how to make me cry. Before, it was very rare for me to cry…
it's a culture that glorifies melancholy, just look at all the literature that has survived the passage of time. it's mostly tragedy that is deemed "great"

Interesting read on how WoH passed censorship: https://twitter.com/smilemochi_/status/1379657135445798914?s=12
I dont think this is very accurate and are speculations the poster came up, because it states the censorship board didn't require a full script submission before 2020 Feburary and it's been overlooked because of it's low budget. What about the full review before airing? and it goes through multiple screenings before airing. Plus, the state media had praised the drama while it was airing. If the script or the drama had anything that passed the redline, it would've been pulled immediately. Guardian was even pulled after it finished airing for a while. A lot of the other speculation actually talks about how the ending armory scene is what made it pass censorship. It kind of brought story to a level of nationalism and the core belief of CCP and general Chinese governance: to farm and to provide for it's people is the treasure that governments should abide by. (the book called 齐民要术). Also WUXIA, the genre, has always had a tint of Chinese nationalism sprinkled within. I think when it comes down to censorship, the censorship board is more concerned about postive portrayals of negative ideologies; it's never clearly about homosexuality, but rather what the censorship board deems negatively ideologies and that can be anything.

yeah, the last game just went out of control, im surprised the producer allowed this to happen, because if you…
it's not scripted down to a T, but definitely most "choices" are already made beforehand, but I can tell ZZH just went off script, which he does in WOH also.

it just means male or sir in a greater context and was popularized in historical dramas as "husband". What's great…
what's great about this is it's not stated outright what the meaning is, but they're all interpretations from viewers. also, even chinese viewers are learning poetries and hidden meanings as we watch this, because some of these are not common knowledge.

I just watched the happy camp episode for a second time and can't stop laughing. The comedic potential of this…
yeah, the last game just went out of control, im surprised the producer allowed this to happen, because if you watch this show regularly, everything is pretty scripted. it's when ZZH dumped that basket over pink dust over the eliminated two. Glad it went this way, seems way more fun and natural than the old scripted and everyone is just polite. lol

I am curious, in ep 18 minute 22:14, WKX said : Zhou xiang gong / 周相公, and YT Eng translation is "my dear"..…
it just means male or sir in a greater context and was popularized in historical dramas as "husband". What's great about this scene is WKX says " 周相公,就原谅则个吧“. This sentence structure and how WKX refers to myself might be referencing the historically banned erotic novel called 金瓶梅, or The Plum in the Golden Vase. This was said right before a sex scene in the novel, and our MLs have a tumble in a "tunnel" right after. So... yeah.

Yes. It is extremely low budget. It used a budget of only 30 million. Investors pulled out due to covid.Only wolong…
yeah, that's 30 million rmb, meaning it's only about less than 5 million USD. Considering GOT costs 15million per episode... that's a really low budget.

I'm watching episode 31 again, and to be honest, I was astonished and wonders how the Ghost Valley members feel…
that would require the 9 episodes they cancelled due to budget restraints

I heard that BL Censored romances usually tend to release the trailers on the day they start airing so don't lose…
WOH has a tiny budget and investment compare to Immortality, like a 10th of it. Immortality is WeTV's biggest BL adaption investment to date. They might drop it the day before, but it's unlikely seeing how big the budget is.
