On Revenged Love Jun 24, 2025
I was debating wether to start this before it ended as I usually like to binge watch when all episodes of a show are out, because the reviews and the rating are really good. But the last couple of comments before mine made me doubt everything. I am one of those who will always enjoy a good show with a lot of skinship, good NCs and just in general the realistic portraying of passion in a relationship, as much as I enjoy the cute and fluffy stuff. I am also not opposed to more mature plots, dark vibes and toxic behaviours because that can also be realistic and it makes for very interesting stories and characters. But I'm also one of those who genuinely hated extremely popular BL TharnType for example for the disgusting representation of queer people and queer relationships (as a queer person myself) and how the story touches very heavy sensitive topics with not nearly enough seriousness it 100% needed and even almost romantised them. And from what I just read, it's giving the same vibe. Need more opinions please 🙏

Also, the very few kiss scenes seemed very "forced" to me and felt like the actors didn't want to kiss at all. Which is okay, we all have our limits. But it does ruin the vibe for me.

A must-watch solely for Film's performance as Charn. Otherwise, it was okay. Not my favorite but also not the worst I've seen. I love more mature plots that take you out of high school/uni in BLs so that was a nice touch! I personally didn't feel as much chemistry between Film and Jam as what they had in "To Sir With Love" though.

Title Last Twilight Spoiler
Sooo… I actually purposely avoided this series at first because I’m not a fan of Jimmy. 😭 I hated him after…
I couldn't have agreed more with you about the ending. It ruined a lot of my experience watching it 😭

Okay so after reading several comments, I'm glad so many people share the same opinion about the ending 😭

Trailer looks honestly incredible. I was already moved with 3 minutes of this series, so I can't wait to see it unfold. As a french person, I don't mind Great's french. Thaï and french are such different languages, I can't really fault him for his pronunciation and I'm sure he did his best. I hope and I feel this is going to be a great watch! 🥰

the 18+ version is on gagaoolala if you have access to it!
Oh I understand! I can't pay for every streaming service either so I prioritize according to what I feel like watching in the moment lmao

This, make it right, sotus and 2moons with bas and goxxd were my first thai series. And 2 moons has been remade…
I think the most iconic series will probably get a remake at some point 🤔

Also I just counted, if it's only one episode per week, we're here till May 18th 2025 🥲
I do that too, I hate having to wait between episodes, so I'd rather just wait for it to end and then binge it in one go! That's the perk of taking a break from series, I have a lot to catch up hehe

I agree, 2 episodes per week would have been better. I think 15 weeks instead of 30 would've been more reasonable 🤔

I hope this series will be good enough for 30 episodes because that's kind of a lot x) But I'm a massive ForceBook…

But I'm a massive ForceBook fan so I do have high hope! Also since I took a big break from BL and series in general, I was today years old when I realised Santa had joined gmmtv lmao. Noice. Kinda wish Earth had followed but hey 🤷‍♀️

Ooooooooooooooooooooooookay WELL I've got some thoughts yall.
From all the negative comments and reviews, I was fully prepared to be completely gagged at the entire thing and to my biggest surprise, I... wasn't.
Was it as I expected it to be during the looong long time I've waited for this damn show? Absolutely not. Was it disappointing? Fuck yeah. 100% disappointing. BUT not as bad as some comments I've read here said. Don't get me wrong, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, that's fine. I understand why so many people disliked it, and why so many were mad at the production for doing Tutor and Yim so dirty for their first lead couple roles. And honestly, I kinda agree with that argument.
But it felt very much like your typical thai romcom more than an unwatchable atrocity. Very over-the-top, very cliché and silly at times. Jade's character is... very painful to watch sometimes, especially during the first 5 episodes. Definitely wanted to kill him more than once. But then you kinda get into the character's background and story and his feelings and you understand why he is the way that he is. (insert The Office "why are you the way that you are" meme here because that was me for more than half of the show tbh)
But the main issue for me was the entire tone of the show. I really expected it to be more of a serious, dramatic kinda series, funny at times yeah sure (I mean, mi2 was supposed to be the main lead so of course you would expect some very goofy stuff), but a bit more like bedfriend. Even the portrayal of Jade in bedfriend seemed different, a bit darker. And from the synopsis, I, again, really thought Jade would be more of the shy, unassuming type of character rather than this unnecessary loud and annoyingly talkative guy. I get that for some people, it's easier to be obnoxiously loud to hide their lack of self-confidence but dude, that was just too much. It made the character very unlikable which is a shame because if you push through the first 5 episodes (so basically almost the entire series LOLZ), you do start to feel sorry for him and you do feel a little bit of empathy for him. And if you are the introverted/try not to make yourself notice type, like me, you can even find him.... dare I say it... relatable sometimes.
But yeah, it was a hard watch, I'm not gonna lie. It wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't great. Second couple was cute, I really enjoyed them. And I did enjoy King and Uea as a bickering couple. Uea holds King by the balls and I'm 100% here for it.
Oh and one last thing, since I watched the uncut version: the NC scenes were well done but felt out of place for me. It felt like they were filmed one day and then added to the series with no transition at all, no continuity with what was happening before. And I don't know, it felt a bit wrong to see Jade and Mai in this situation, especially given Jade's innocent and naive temperament. Tutor and Yim have good chemistry in my eyes but the relationship between the two characters was more like "puppy love" than "horny dogs". So yeah. I was a bit uncomfortable to watch, and I'm VERY RARELY uncomfortable with sexy times on my screen hehehe (argh someone make me stfu please).

Soooooooo in conclusion: not the worst I've seen, but 1000000000% not the best either. A bit of a waste of a good couple (TutorYim, loved them so much in Cutiepie) and a waste of what could've been an interesting storyline. Even more in a working environment, it's always nice to get out of the typical uni setting that we've been fed for years, but I didn't like how it was made and the general tone of the show. Didn't like Jade's portrayal and the choices that were made for this character. Yim was great, but his character was not and I hope it's not gonna penalize him for future roles later on.

I was surprised by the rating as I found this series to be better than I thought! The casting was great and the story was rather nice. The production was also good. Is it the best BL of all time? Not by a long shot but it still deserves a bit more love imo :)
I would highly suggest not paying attention to the rating and at least give it a try.
