I'm really enjoying the friendships. FL and her bff and ML and his three bros always gossiping in the same places takes me out 😭 and the guys are always eavesdropping in on their conversation lol. I'm enjoying both the first and second lead couples because the 4 of them are individually entertaining and I need the 4 of them to gather more often in the upcoming episodes.

@CKR_10 You know what, i was so confused by your comment about him pursuing her and him being persistent, only to see a couple of comments ago you said you haven’t started the show. Which is why i had to explain to you all his knowledge of her trauma earlier. I completely agree, but there’s definitely some comments hating on the female lead viewing her in a shallow way as if her experiences aren’t the cause of it and it just comes out of a lack of empathy for her situation. I do have criticisms about the drama especially about the editing, like if i see another train transition i might loose my mind. Also I think the friendship between Yifan’s childhood friends could’ve been done better without making a weird love triangle come out of nowhere.

I haven't read the novel so it's just what I've gathered so far in the drama. I think that in terms of the past she should tell him why she essentially broke up with him. However, I do disagree a bit with ML side and him not having understanding of her situation because Sang Yan knows that Wen Yifan wasn't treated well by her relatives. I think that's one of the reasons why he still cares for her because he might not be aware of all the details in terms of her assault(s) but he was there when her father and grandmother passed away and also overheard and saw how her aunt treats her. He's also aware that she has no one else other than her friends and about the assault she went through at her previous place. So while he might not fully know why she broke up with him (though they weren't dating, it was a break up), I think that with context he's aware of some of her struggles. So I think him knowing of even half of her struggles is enough for him to care for her and want to be there for her during her difficult times. Is he still hurt over her actions? yes. I think he still takes care of her because he loves her despite not knowing why she broke up with him, but knowing that she went through hard times back then.

If it was the opposite and it was a ML dealing with even a small portion of what Yifan is dealing with, they'd be acting different. People don't give women a fraction of the grace they give men.
A lot of people have zero media literacy because what do you mean she's giving him the cold shoulder or that she's indifferent to him?? like are we watching the same drama...I'm begging you to use your brain and connect the plot with the characters without needing everything to be spelled out for you.
Sang Yan is doing a lot for her, but he's not as straightforward as you guys are making him seem either. You're acting like he's actively pursuing her and chasing her while she's ignoring him. She has already come a long way from the first episode in terms of letting people in, she has no clarity of where she stands with Sang Yan because he's also vague with his tsundere actions (as far as she knows he moved on and they're just roommates), and she's not only dealing with past trauma but current as well because by episode 11 only 2 months had passed from her being assaulted at her previous place.
Also to act like her being sad and depressed is somehow unwarranted and burdensome is crazy, because if you had experienced a fraction of what this character and lot of people irl experience you would not be the brightest person either. It's crazy that people need characters' responses to their trauma and how it affects their relationships around them spelled out in a drama, instead of using their own intuition and mind to connect the dots. It makes you think of how they deal with those who are depressed and/or closed off due to trauma in real life.
