Idk I feel like he's lowkey silly too so they're a good match. To me, even though the FL is high maintenance and cares more about her reputation, she's still very smart (just maybe doesn't use her intelligence to benefit others as much as most FLs). The ML even though he's morally upright and intimidating due to his job and position, it's a little silly that he is still so wrapped up in this girl's marriage prospects even if it's for the greater good (lets be honest he doesn't need to be so bothered by her possible suitors before he even proposes marriage to her and her family)

I'm really enjoying the friendships. FL and her bff and ML and his three bros always gossiping in the same places takes me out 😭 and the guys are always eavesdropping in on their conversation lol. I'm enjoying both the first and second lead couples because the 4 of them are individually entertaining and I need the 4 of them to gather more often in the upcoming episodes.

"You were right about her, those scholar types can't handle her. Good thing you got her! oh that's not what I meant" "I get what you meant your Majesty, we think alike" HE HASN'T EVEN PROPOSED YET. He's already so fond of her antics 😩 I'm sat for the high maintenance wife and calm husband trope with them. I'm looking forward to the next episodes.

In the future Sang Zhi and Wen Yifan need to sit Sang Yan and Duan Jiaxu down and ask them if they ever had something going on lmaoo. Their friendship is a little intense not to mention their college days kiss 😭

Like it made sense for the five minutes she lived by the train tracks but for the rest of the show??? also the transition between the past and present in the beginning of the episodes gets on my nerves 😭😭

@CKR_10 You know what, i was so confused by your comment about him pursuing her and him being persistent, only to see a couple of comments ago you said you haven’t started the show. Which is why i had to explain to you all his knowledge of her trauma earlier. Our discussion would be a lot more enjoyable if you actually knew what you were talking about, so please actually watch the show before writing confusing assumptions.

I completely agree, but there’s definitely some comments hating on the female lead viewing her in a shallow way as if her experiences aren’t the cause of it and it just comes out of a lack of empathy for her situation. I do have criticisms about the drama especially about the editing, like if i see another train transition i might loose my mind. Also I think the friendship between Yifan’s childhood friends could’ve been done better without making a weird love triangle come out of nowhere.

I fully agree and hope that's the direction the drama is going. She's honestly improved a lot since moving out and even though there are ups and downs, I hope she continues this upward curve of progression.

I haven't read the novel so it's just what I've gathered so far in the drama. I think that in terms of the past she should tell him why she essentially broke up with him. However, I do disagree a bit with ML side and him not having understanding of her situation because Sang Yan knows that Wen Yifan wasn't treated well by her relatives. I think that's one of the reasons why he still cares for her because he might not be aware of all the details in terms of her assault(s) but he was there when her father and grandmother passed away and also overheard and saw how her aunt treats her. He's also aware that she has no one else other than her friends and about the assault she went through at her previous place. So while he might not fully know why she broke up with him (though they weren't dating, it was a break up), I think that with context he's aware of some of her struggles. So I think him knowing of even half of her struggles is enough for him to care for her and want to be there for her during her difficult times. Is he still hurt over her actions? yes. I think he still takes care of her because he loves her despite not knowing why she broke up with him, but knowing that she went through hard times back then.
