Saw it. It was really the ML's show, though, wasn't it? Have you watched any of her movies? "Love So Divine" is hilarious. And "The Duelist" is gorgeous. Ha Ji-won's acting is first-rate. I think she liked co-star very much and it showed in their scenes together.
I just read an article saying that Go Hyun Jung voluntarily gave up her appearance fee because she wanted this…
This should give her a certain amount of power over script changes in the midst of filming. I guess she doesn't want a repeat of what happened to her role after episode 15 of "Return" that was so radical that she quit the show.
Watching this drama made me understand why the current South Korean government immediately voted to impeach the president for calling for Marshall Law. And my goodness, Go Hyun-Jung was so gorgeous and already a great actress. 10/10
10/10 - As complex a drama and FL lead as I've seen to date. Go Hyun-jung's performance is a masterclass in acting the role of an anti-heroine. She elevates the performances of the two MLs. Imo they've never been better. Love that a woman whose passionate nature makes two very different men go crazy over her doesn't look like a puppy or a kitten. Some aspects of this drama, the heartless mother-in-law and the FLs desperate attempt to maintain the love of her children, make me think that Go's role was written with her in mind.
There is no way I can reconcile some of the things this teacher did - such as revealing to the entire class that…
She also let the student who physically assaulted her off the hook and just demanded that she face up to her truly evil behavior toward her best friend. And, unlike the students' parents, she was always observing them and always there when they needed her--including saving one of them from drowning.
Terrific screenplay, character development, acting, and a perfect music score. (Thank you, producers and music director for knowing that you had a cast full of great actors, who didn't need songs to "help" them express their characters' emotions. 10/10
It's actually a very meh drama. Even I, a Go Hyun Jung fan, had trouble finishing it. But for a really great drama that portrays friendship in a beautiful way, I recommend another of Go's dramas, the Queen's Classroom. Terrific screenplay, character development, acting, and a perfect music score.
In the end, the Thai version just hit the right notes for me, delivering the romance and variety I had hoped for.…
I don't agree. I enjoyed the Chinese version; it held my attention throughout, and the chemistry between the two leads was palpable. Their roles seemed as if they were written for them. I've watched it twice now and it still holds up. But we're all entitled to our opinion, right?
This drama is regarded as a classic. So how about reissuing it (with English subs) for us international k-drama drama fans who are interested in watching the earlier productions. Because many of the earlier ones that I've been able to watch are absolutely riveting.
