Dear MDL: Is it absolutely necessary to include "Age Gap" in your tags? Is it supposed to serve as some sort of warning? Or perhaps to encourage ageism among those who want 35+ actresses to stop appearing in historical c-dramas?

Has this drama even begun streaming yet? These haters bashing LYT are a joke. She's one of the best, most versatile c-drama actresses; that's why she's cast in so many of them.

I'm a Go Hyun-jung fan, so I bought the DVD on ebay.

I was addicted to the Japanese series, so it will be interesting to compare it with the Korean adaptation.

Yes. This is a very special drama. I've now finished watching it. 10/10

Yes, I think all of the blood and physical and emotional pain was an attempt at realism. Apart from the leads surviving injuries that mere mortals never could, Fated Hearts has zero fantasy. It's like the filmmakers are saying, even if you find blood feuds and the over-the-top obsession of male parents with their male children, regardless of how insistent those children are on wanting to lead their own lives and make their own decisions, or how feckless they are, ridiculous, this is how it really was and, perhaps, still is.

Anyway, in my opinion, Fated Hearts should appeal to anyone interested in realistic historical dramas and it's the love story (not the blood and sadism) that is the added attraction for those viewers who watch c-dramas for the romantic relationships.

I'm not Japanese, I've just been a fan of Asian cinema for years. And because my gateway to Japanese films was Kurosawa, whose women characters were more Lady MacBeth-ish or, at the very least, crafty. And these days, the women in the films I've been watching are really quite mature.

Nanao is a famous model, who also "acts" in films and dramas. I've seen two of her dramas, "Talentless Takano" and "Miss Devil: HR's Devil Mako Tsubaki." In both, she, with the creative team's help, seems to be taking on, all of the criticisms that have been leveled against her with humor. And, frankly, I love this idea. I wish I could find more of her dramas on DVD.

I find the Japanese acting style for female characters rather, endearing. Makes a nice change. And then there's the opposite side of the coin, Nanao, who I find hilarious.

I thought the ending was amusing. It summed up what I'd been thinking about the couple and their good-natured acceptance of the obvious about themselves.

Check out Fated Hearts. It's quite a bit different from the rest. The script kept it interesting throughout. Excellent acting, especially from FL.

Yes. I'm further into now, and I'm very impressed with the screenplay. It's highly original; everything makes as much sense as the genre allows; the action scenes happen for a reason, mainly as a means of developing the characters' relationship; excellent pacing; all of which makes me feel like everyone involved in the production talked to each and knew exactly what came next and where the drama was going. I don't always feel that when I'm watching c-dramas with many, many episodes. And badass couple is right!

Same. J-dramas have their own style, and that fact should be appreciated and not just compared unfavorably with k-dramas. I love the collaboration. Another Korean actress who is fluent in Japanese and is great at quirky dramas is Kim Sun-ah. I hope she's cast in one soon.

I've just finished ep. 3, and I can't imagine how those two are going to fall in love with each other, unless it involves a blood transfusion. Li Qin's acting in this drama is first-rate, though.
