To be honest, I like her acting, but I can't stand her cute voice. And I've noticed that the same voice actress (maybe it's Esther) dubs many of the cute girl characters, and I find that a turnoff. But I'm a non-Asian, c-drama fan, and c-dramas aren't made for viewers like me.

Sometimes the voice actresses for the young FLs film sound like cartoon characters. But I guess for Chinese viewers that's better than listening to film actresses who have strong or the wrong accent.

They'd have to "discover" an as yet unknown actress with acting talent, charisma, martial arts skills, and a strong build to play a truly believable general. But I liked the idea that the female general in Shadow Love didn't act like a man, looked like a cream puff, yet had earned the respect and loyalty of all those brave men. Imo, casting Song Yi was sending a message.

This has probably been said before, but LITC has proved to me that MDL ratings do not reflect the overall the…
Imo, in historical romance dramas, the FL & ML's chemistry is part and parcel of their acting ability. The job of actors, with the help of directors, is to bring the writers' characters to life. The acting goes hand in hand with the writing. If the acting fails to convince it's either because they lack the requisite chemistry, or because of inconsistencies in the writing.

Unpopular opinion: Shadow Love is far superior in terms of screenplay and acting than Legend of the Female General. I didn't see the "great chemistry" that other viewers did in Female General, but I did see it in Shadow Love. The performances of the leads in Female General were flat, one-note, and unlike the screenplay for Shadow Love, Female General's was no fun at all.

Actually, reading the reviews above, at least those two critics agree with me that Female General was disappointing. The only thing that kept me watching was Zhou Ye's seemingly effortless display of martial arts.

I love dramas with complex, complicated FLs when the actresses playing those roles have the talent and life experiences to make those characters unforgettable. And right now, I can't forget Queen Mantis and need a Go Hyun-jung fix asap.

This drama would've had a better rating if they hadn't saved Queen Mantis's significant appearances until the last few eps. Hard to believe, but a serial killer turns out to be the heart and soul of the show.

I guess my 10/10 didn't help much. Such a great pairing. Song Yi always has great chemistry with her MLs, but with Ryan Cheng it was extra special perhaps because they were working with an excellent screenplay.

It's funny how all these guys gets worked up when she killed all those scum guys but they never batted an eye…
K-dramas, regardless of the genre, always have something to say about the unfairness of the legal system--particularly as it applies to women and children.

Can we express some love for the famous screenwriter of Tempest, Jung Seo-kyung? She's written some incredible movies including Decision to Leave, The Handmaiden, Thirst, and my favorite, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance.

Blood Free was suppose to add the romance like in this one to almost be at par… This drama is freaking awesome..…
Blood Free has sexual tension rather than romance. It's as if the filmmakers didn't think consummation was appropriate for the story they were telling. Tempest is more like a Hollywood drama than a k-drama.

Then he should swing his a** back to her and watch her like he promised :(
I was surprised that Disney picked it up and not Netflix because Jun is wildly popular throughout Asia and Netflix certainly has that territory covered. So, I'm thinking that Disney spent all that money to attract Asian viewers everywhere it's available while also capturing mature viewers of every ethnicity into political intrigue in English-speaking countries. For example, the anti-American sentiment would go over big in the UK, Canada, and Australia. Do we even know how it did in those countries?

Also, I doubt that a season 2 wouldn't cost as much. They probably shot a lot more background visuals than they used in season one, so less to spend for a second unit camera crew. And the story is now about Jun as president and where is he when she needs him and... swoon, he's back from the dead and standing by her side just as he promised.

I'm probably wrong about there being a season 2. I was wrong about Sell Your Haunted House having a season 2. I LOVED that show. Such great characters and stories within the story.

Anyway, we shall see,

The best actresses have that special ability and can even make their MLs fall for them in real life, and Gianna Jun (as she's known in the U.S.) is among the best. She reportedly, hated Kim Soo-hyun's guts when they filmed My Love from a Star, and yet their onscreen chemistry is potent. Not that he fell in love with her off-screen.
