He's done Dramas before. He did Bloody Romance so I think there's a chance.

Wait!!! Qu Chu xiao is actually a good male lead. He can act. If the latest rumour is true, he's a good choice. That's part the work done.

Shen Yin's novel Is way more fun and tragic than Ancient God's novel. So I expect a better drama from this. Usually, first trailers are light, but to me, this is a bad trailer. A trailer is supposed to give you at least an idea, but for this, the tone is off in a strange way I can't really explain. This didn't do anything for me as someone looking forward to this, but we have time, and in that, I'm hopeful. I still very much look forward to this drama.

I like the costumes( not really the ML's), but I have always liked them, and I think most people do. Feng Yin, Hong Ruo, and Hua Shu's are really pretty. What I don't like is this trailer. The Feng Yin bits are great, and the set pieces are great, but everything else worries me. But I have hope and want this to succeed. This is only the first trailer so we have time.

Most dramas that vastly stray from the source material tend to go south. So much so, it might as well be a different story. That being said, I did see some stuff from the novel, so it's not as different as you claim. They seem to be keeping the major plot point, that's for sure. The only thing that I expect to be totally different is the ending, because the novel's ending, as much as I think it is fitting to the story, is sad and people don't like that.

This worries me greatly I know they made changes, but from the reuters I didn't think they were huge changes. If it is, though, that is a bad sign, in my opinion.

I'm not a fan of the director most of his work is mediocre at best. It will be the writing will make or break this drama. As long as the stay close to the novel everything will be okay. The one thing I like in the trailer is the Emperor Shen Yin bits we got. It feels like her Arrogant and wanting nothing to do with her past as A Yin.

I am. Shen Yin's novel is more story-packed than Ancient God I also like it more, so I have hope. I pray this has more post production. It's also heavier; I don't know why they make it seem so light.

They really should set something like that up. You have detailed guideline right there, so how do you mess up the original work that much?!?! It's so frustrating

This could have been great but I knew it was gonna be a mess when it had 3 directors. And who wrote the script?????!? Xing Ling is probably pissed to see her work butchered like this. I don't like the cast either. This feels like a whole different story in that simply shared a name. I hope people still watch enjoy it.

Return of Feng Yin(just the feel of her aura and attitude is great) and any moment A Yin/ Feng Yin is done with the BS. She easily is one of the best Xianxia females

Story of Ming Lan. Both are based on novels written by the same person. A slow-burn, family, slice-of-life/coming-of-age drama just like this however, Ming Lan is more family-driven

People NONE of the leads are confirmed. Not Ding Yuxi, not Zhao Lusi. Ding Yuxi just signed on to a new project and Zhao Lusi's name is being called in everything that isn't this, as for the Misinformation about her being confirmed for this drama, she is not, Tencent only confirmed that the drama is getting a second season not that anybody was coming back. Keep your expectations low.
