I want to see the progression from the beginning to the end with all the happy times and problems that come with adjustments before my heart is wrenched from me. This is an absolute must!

For me, it's hard to buy into the romance when there are other women/wives/concubines in the picture. I understand the time, but it's still hard for to buy into the romance. A harem drama that focuses on a romance between One ML and One FL has to be done really well to and I have never seen it done well....at all!

So Scarlet Heart is just tragic love? 😿You guys are now making me rethink watching this, which is fine since it's not available anywhere for me. Maybe that's the reason...the universe knows this drama is not for me. 🤔

What gets me about modern K-dramas with crazy family crap is the law seems to actually encourage this type of infighting. It's truly bizarre.

It's a bit bizarre IMO. They have all these concubines so they can have all these kids, but all these wives and kids start fighting each other. It's like what was the point of this because it's not making things easier, but harder. Now all your family is trying to kill each other...lol.

The Harem concept is a hard sell for my western trained mind. I absolutely understand the reasoning behind it, but I...just can't really get behind it. Whenever I see it an historical drama I am very wary because it usually can go only one or two ways. Indira Varma's Kama Sutra was the first harem drama I ever watched and it left an impression on my mind. That is all I will say.

Agree. I know people wanted to see the Queen and their friendship, but I think it would have felt weird. The drama wasn't set up that way, so the fewer women on the scene the better. I have a hard time watching Jang Ok because the harem/inner court stuff just gets crazier and crazier.

I think Doek-Im has been very discrete and the only one with any real knowledge is CL Seo. The friends seem to follow a formula. Forgive me...but the names are hard for me to remember. The one who embroiders is smart and comes for a well-to-do family and has more insight in to the politic intrigues around her. She also works for the QD. The quiet one is more homely and seems to be the sweet one of the bunch who doesn't really pay attention to those things, and the verbose one is from a working class background and she likes to have fun. From watching the preview, all of them seemed shocked so it's likely they didn't really know what was going on and Doek Im never told them.

Me and you both! I will plunk down the money for it and these import DVDs are pricey! On the bright side, I keep hearing from certain corners folks are aware of the INTL impact this show is having, and when people are aware they can make money they will usually try to make that money. Go capitalism!!! Make a DVD! You want the money and I want to spend it!!!! 🙃

I feel like they introduced her character in such a way that we likely haven't seen the last of her. They still need some sort of antagonist and drama, so I think she may have a small role to play again.

Yeah, I agree. At first I wanted the harem drama, but this would have suffered from those sort of antics.
