From what i've seen even from other version, the ml is always more angry to sml than to fl. They actually always ask the fl after this wether she seriously still likes his friend but he always cut off the sml from f4 without listening to their explanation

They are in a relationship. Apparently domyouji ask shigeru to be his girlfriend officially to try to like her or something (in hanadan there was a backstory tho of why domyouji doesnt really talk with makino for a periode of time (since he went to usa), so they arent just in an arranged marriage, but domyouji and shigeru is actually dating too. Lets see what happened in this ver

Shigeru is lita. In hanadan, shigeru befriend makino, and when she ask makino if she is in love with domyouji makino said no(their relationship at that point is a bit complicated). So shigeru pursue domyouji without knowing anything ( she kinda had her doubt tho) untill she caught domyouji and makino in a somewhat compromising position (actually accidental) in that small house.

There is this part in hanadan where makino rent a small room after her parent went to countryside and domyouji follows her and live in the same building. That happen while he currently have something going on with shigeru. I think they also have this storyline in other ver like the korean one
