i want that too, everyone likes that, but in lots of dramas a happy ending feels fake( you can feel that the writer is somehow forcing that happy ending) or boring.
I think This is the reason why the dramas with sad ending usually have higher ratings too, Because it's more real and you can feel and understand it.

giving every single lead a happy ending doesn't make a drama a good one. wether it's happy or sad the ending has to be something that make the viewer feel emotionally drained or ecstatic (in my opinion)
